Are you ready for an explosion of Thunder, Lightning and Pure Raw Energy
when AB/CD the B.S.E. hits the stage?
AB/CD recreate the boozy blues of AC/DC, the legendary Aussie rockers. No other band has come so close to capturing the true essence of this famously theatrical rock band(as opposed to the later heavy-metal image which followed them in the 80s). They have become Ireland's premier AC/DC cover band by emulating every aspect of the 'seventies cult rockers, whose fan-base continues to grow in the new millennium, driven by their new album "Stiff Upper Lip" and ensuing world tour. AB/CD deliver their raw style of stripped-down, solid, riff-heavy music which is tightly arranged and delivered with a blues-boogie groove. AB/CD: The Bon Scott Experience has quickly amassed a dedicated cult following, packing them in at popular venues all over the south of Ireland. Their success owes much to the unabashed gimmickry of their live show, allied to their furious and frequently risque brand of hard rock. Remaining true to the clean, unhampered twin-guitar sound of Angus and Malcolm Young(played by Aimless Gun and Milk'em Young, respectively), AB/CD recreates the pure raw energy of AC/DC's live performances. Fittingly the AB/CD rhythm section is solid, simple and impeccable; the very backbone of the band. Holding down the bottom end is bassist Stiff William (as Cliff Williams), and pounding out the Phil Rudd thunder is drummer Full Rod. The show is anchored by the electrifying presence of lead singer Ponce Bot, who has the uncanny ability to reproduce the infamous and legendary larynx shredding vocal of Bon Scott. With his cheeky grin and obvious empathy with Scott's bad-boy lyrics, Ponce has moulded the character and flavour of the band, cementing their image as raucous, socially maladjusted wild men. Shaking the foundations and prowling the stage is the very visual lead guitarist Aimless Gun, the perfect tribute to his double, Angus. The manic, tantrum-throwing, head-nodding axeman dressed in his customary schoolboy outfit adds exhuberance to the live shows; strutting and duck walking while his high voltage fingers rip out lightning blues on his trademark Gibson SG. The band is all about having fun and delivering a rocking blues set with a boogie groove.
