2009 Launch takes place in Matt McCoys on Wednesday April 8th

The Fleadh by the Feale 2009 commences on Thursday 30th of April to Monday 4th of May.

The festival programme for 2009 includes music, singing, workshops, competitions, sessions and a junior art display.

Thursday April 30th 2009
7.30pm Presentation of Art Poster Prizes and Exhibition. Venue - Abbeyfeale Library
9.30pm Gathering Sessions of Music, Song & Dance.

Friday May 1st 2009
8.00pm Traditional Street Busking Competition
[Minimum 3 participants, Max 6] Groups must provide Irish Traditional entertainment.

Saturday 2nd May 2009
1.30pm Registration for Traditional "Master Workshop Classes" in Convent National School
Classes objectives: Improve technique & skills in Improvers & Advanced categories.
Classes Commence - 2.00pm.

(Students are advised to bring Tape Recorders.)

Registration Fee:
€10 Registration is permissible on the day, but it is advised to book in advance by posting registration details & Fee to: Maureen Murphy, 1 Willowbrook, Killarney Rd., Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.

N.B:
(In event of high demand for classes, a first come first served basis will apply.)
Eligibility: Unsuitable for beginners. Open to all ages, Junior or Senior. (Spectators Not Allowed)

8.30pm Traditional Entertainment in the Square with Templeglantine Comhaltas & Maids of Erin

3.00pm Face Painting for young & not so young. Venue: Abbeyfeale Square town centre
3.00pm Traditional Storytelling with Daisy Kearney. Venue: Convent Secondary School Abbeyfeale
3.00pm Ceili Mor in association with the Community Radio Station - West Limerick 102fm. Venue: Fr. Casey's GAA Club

3.30pm Traditional Outdoor Entertainment & Junior Bone Playing Competition. Venue: Abbeyfeale Square town centre.

7.30pm Open Air Entertainment with Scoil Mháthair Dé followed by Tournafulla Comhaltas Group

8.00pm "All-Ireland Bone Playing Competition" on Open Air Platform in Square town centre
