My first day with the Nikon TC-E2 tele adapter for the CooolPix950.

Was disappointed with this lens, it is big and heavy. Is not sharp enough for my liking and needs a real steady hand. Of all the lenses this one really needs a direct viewfinder, I found it difficult to keep my subject in frame, I'm prone to one sidedness at the best of times so this was particularly frustrating for me - especially as the half missing subject was, like the fish that gets away, the only sharp one in a sequence. Still I'll persevere, it's probably not that bad but I'd like your comments. gerardbee@eircom.net

Behind each picture is a larger version from 230K ~ 568K

mostly untouched from the camera with no sharpening at all -- though for anything productive I'd sharpen them a lot!!!!

Most of these were taken at full tele but the vignette effect came in 'creatively' for my wedding picture. I think the lens is sharpest a little back from full zooms but it suffers severely from flair. And a fast shutter speed is essential or even a tripod.
