         Stepping into the lobby through the re-created, traditional half door,

            the most noticeable things about the cosy cottage are the inspirational use of  colour

There are original double doors at the entry to the kitchen with a sliding security bar (known in periods of unrest in the 18th and 19th c as a Raparee bar. Raparees were mountainy bandits and householders needed to barracade themselves in at such times!)
