The food correspondent of the magazine galwaynow recently
complimented the staff for their suggestions " from
a massive menu ..... we were helped to choose a great
meal and compliment it with the perfect bottle of wine"
and where . "Each dish is simply a work of art and
you have to just sit and look at it for a few moments
before disturbing Michael's creation"
The galwaynow menu was .... an appetiser of Chilled Gazpacho
Soup to"get the taste buds hopping and ready for
what was to come"! Starters for two were Peking Style
Salted Chicken Wings and Garlic and Tarragon pan-fried
Frogs Legs slightly perfumed with a twist of lemon. Main
courses were Thai Tom Yum Tali with Noodles - a selection
of seafood and chicken poached in a broth, seasoned with
kafer lime leaf, ginger, lemon grass and traditional Thai
ingredients enhanced with noodles perfumed with fresh
basil; Prawn and Chili Samble which consisted of tiger
prawns tossed in a pan with crushed garlic and chopped
chilli, perfumed with a light soy-sweet chilli sauce.
Deserts were a selection of light Homemade Ice-creams
garnished with fresh fruits and a more substantial Warm
Bitter Chocolate Tartlet which was described as"heavenly"!
This was prepared by Michael O'Meara and his team who
passionetly believe that people eat with their eyes -
first! And so, it was "Presented in a very dramatic
manner that adds to the whole sense of a dining experience
rather than simply a meal out"and "Each dish
is simply a work of ART"!
Georgina Cambell -"Oscars is an
extraordinary restaurant with a pleasantly decadent atmosphere
and lovely staff that are interested and attentive".....
and "expressive confident cooking that stands-out
in Galway"
