        Sean Butler received 38,112 first preference votes on 11 June 1999.
Although it was a formidable performance, particularly for a first-time candidate, he was not elected.  This election has, however, marked him as someone who is going places.  If not to the European Parliament on this occasion, then who knows where ?   Watch this space.  Because he will certainly have a political career worth following, this website will stay in place and be updated.
