CONFESSIONS – Confessions on Saturday next at 2.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.

PRESENTATION OF THE LORD – CANDLEMAS DAY Monday will be the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.  Candles will be blessed before 9 a.m. Mass.

 ST. BLAISE – Tuesday will be the Feast of St. Blaise.  Blessing of throats after 7 p.m. Mass on Saturday evening and after 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday morning and again after 9 a.m. Mass on Tuesday morning.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION –Eucharistic Adoration continues on Monday next from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

ENVELOPE COLLECTION — last Sunday amounted to €1,152.000.  Sincere thanks to all who contributed.

ROSARY – the Rosary will be recited on Saturday evening next in Bree Church at 6.45 p.m. (before Mass).  All are most welcome.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to Joan Cahill, Ballybrittas on the recent death of her sister Bridget in Dublin following a short illness.  Funeral and cremation took place in Dublin last week.  May she rest in peace. 

BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be visiting Enniscorthy with their mobile blood collection team over the coming week.  The Clinic times are Sunday February 1st from 11.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, February 2nd, 3rd and 4th from 4.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. – Clinic in the Riverside Park Hotel.  The IBTS is at present experiencing difficulty in collecting enough voluntary blood donations in order to meet hospital requirements of 3,000 units of blood a week.  It is important to remember that patients will always need blood and this need never stops regardless of what else is going on in the world so if you can please come along to the clinic this week and make a donation.  Further information from www.giveblood.ie.

COMMUNITY GAMES ACTIVITIES

Young people from the area will be involved in the following activities over the coming weeks. U13 Choir and Handball on Feb 1st, Cross Country on Feb 7th, Solo Dancing and Group Dancing on 8th Feb, Solo & Group Singing and Solo & Group Music on 15th Feb, Table Quiz on 23rd Feb and Art on 7th March. COMMUNITY GAMES TABLE QUIZ

Niamh Rochford, Sadhbh Kirwan, Shane Butler, Shane Doyle, Johanna Wickham, Edmond Keogh, Grainne Byrne, Ciara McKelvie and Adam Buckley will represent the area in the Community Games Table Quiz finals in the Riverbank House Hotel on Monday 23rd February.

CELTIC ROOTS


Celtic Roots will hold a meeting a Bree Hall on Saturday next February 7th at 6.30pm.

COMMUNITY GAMES DRAUGHTS

Bree Davidstown had three teams competing the Community Games Draughts competition in Ferns last Sunday. The U10 team of Peter Kelly, Kate Fenlon, Katie Humphrey, Caoimhe Kirwan and Glen Rothwell lost to Askamore Kilrush in the first round. The U12 team of Enda Minogue, Adam Buckley, Brid Byrne, Kasey Doyle, Shane Fenlon, Edmond Keogh and Ivan Rothwell beat Askamore Kilrush in the first round but then lost to Gorey. The U14 team of Ciall Humphrey, Lucy Doyle, Ciara McKelvie, Kate Byrne and Jonathon Rothwell lost to Ferns. Team managers were Myriam Gately, Fonsie Keogh and Jim Doyle.
