Bree Utd/IFA Fetac 4 Sports and Recreation Course-Bree United in conjunction with the IFA are looking for local people to take part in a FETAC level 4 Sports and recreation course through the Back to Education Initiative. It will run from September till May two and a half days a week and will be fully funded and will not affect any state payments. Bree Utd AGM-Bree United is holding its AGM on Monday the 9th of June at 8pm in the meeting room in the community centre. All current members and anyone interested in becoming members or coaches for the next season are invited to attend.

Scoil Mhuire Ballyhogue Official Opening and Blessing-All members of the Community are invited to the Official Opening & Blessing of Scoil Mhuire, Ballyhogue by Bishop Denis Brennan on Friday June 13th @ 11a.m.

Bree Community Development Meeting -There will be a meeting of Bree Community Development Group Ltd on Monday 16th June in Bree Community Centre at 8.30pm.

Rehab Church Gate Collection-The annual Rehab Church Gate collection takes place this Saturday/Sunday at the Church Gate.

Bree United Mini World Cup -Bree united will host their very own 2014 mini world cup for boys and girls aged 7 to 13 on the afternoon of the 20th and Sunday 21St June.  This is open to everyone in the parish and surrounding parishes.  There will be a medal for all competitors and refreshments too.  The club will also be running a "tot's academy" over the coming months.   Following our under 12 boys’ trip in April the club is very excited to announce that Sheffield Wednesday have accepted our invitation and plan to visit us in July.  The coaches will be running an academy from the 7th to the 11th and this is invitation only, but on the evening of the 9th our teams will have their own training session with our visiting coaches followed by a barbecue and fun evening for all. For details on any of these events please contact Catherine on 0868587937.

Ballyhogue GAA Club News-Ballyhogue Gaa lotto results. Winning Numbers 7, 13, 30 and 32. There was no winner of the €7800 jackpot or a Match 3 winner. The lucky dip winner was Bridget Storey. The next draw will take place on 4th of June in Byrne's of Bree for a jackpot of €7800. Tickets can be obtained from any club official. Thank you for your continued support.  Ballyhogue GAA Club will be hosting a Family Fun evening in the pitch in Bree in conjunction with the launch of the Club's 5 Year Plan on the 20th June 2014. The evening will have activities for children up to Under 12. More details to follow next week.

Special Olympics Leinster Fundraiser -Special Olympics Leinster are holding a fundraising event on the 21st June. Fancy taking a dip into a freezing outdoor plunge pool all in the name of charity? The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics will take place for the 2nd year at the Enniscorthy Strawberry Fair on Sat 21st June. This unique event will help to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.  The event involves willing volunteers “Taking the Plunge” for Special Olympics, by jumping into a freezing cold outdoor plunge pool. The cold feeling will only be short lived… while the positive impact it will have on Special Olympics athletes will last a lifetime. Would you, a friend, your club or colleagues commit to grin and “bear” it for the athletes of Special Olympics, by taking a dip on Saturday 21st June; anytime between 10am-6pm.  There will be a number of different types of plungers on the day such as: The all-day plunger or the challenge plunger - who will take a dip, once an hour every hour for the duration of 8 hours The once off plungers, who will take a single plunge on the day and the most popular category is “Toss Your Boss/Manager/Coach” - We are asking companies and organisations to get behind the event by raising funds to “toss the boss” into the pool.
