School Opening Scoil Seosamh Naofa, Bree re-opens for pupils on Monday, September 2.  The Board of Management cordially invites parishioners to a viewing of the school premises after masses this weekend.

Bree Parent and Toddler Group - The Bree Parent and Baby/Toddler group will start up again Friday Sept 6th in the hall from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm.  (12.30 for those doing a preschool pickup!)  Your toddler will enjoy some company and have a good run around!  You will also enjoy some company, a cup of tea and a chat. Baby related topics are entirely optional!  All are (dads too!) welcome.  Sinead (087-7986066)

Wexford Academy of Irish Dancing - Classes for the Wexford Academy of Irish Dancing have recommenced on Wednesday nights  for all dancers, class times are as normal. Saturday classes have also recommenced in Bree Community Centre.   All new beginners are very welcome to attend, from 11 am to 12.30 pm.  If you require any further information please contact Catriona on 087 7504818. Used Clothing Collection - Dochas Nasamu Orphanage - in Nairobi, Kenya,  which is an Irish run and Irish built Aids orphanage, are holding a used clothing appeal of ladies, gents and childrens  -clothes, shoes, household linens  i.e.  towels, sheets, blankets, soft toys, handbags   etc.(whatever condition - even in need of  - recycling - so long as the items are clean).  This appeal will take place on Wednesday 4th September, up until 11am at  Bree Church Grounds.  For further information, please contact Marie on   087  6890995.

Ballyhogue Ladies Football - The U 16's will play St Martins in the County Semi-final in Piercestown on Thursday 5th Sept.  Kick off is at 6.30 pm and all support would be appreciated. Booking the Community Centre—Now that the Summer break is over and organisations and clubs are resuming classes/activities/meetings, all organisations are reminded to confirm/book your groups class times for the Community Centre etc. with Eddie Dunne in order to ensure events do not clash.  All bookings for the centre must be made through Eddie.

Ballyhogue GAA News - Lotto Draw results - The winning numbers were  9, 28, 30 and 32. There was no winner of the Jackpot of €4000. Lucky dip winner Pat Carr, Cooltigue. The next draw is on in Byrnes of Bree on the 11th of September with a Jackpot of €4200. Thank you for your continued support. Dancers and Chancers - Ballyhogue Gaa Club will be holding the semi finals of their Dancers and Chancers competition in Byrnes of Bree on Saturday the 7th of September at 930pm. Come along and vote for your favourite to reach the final to be held on Sunday night the 15th of September

With just under two weeks to go, the countdown to the Harvest Festival is well under way.  It promises to be THE social event of the year in the Parish.   The leadership team has assembled a wonderful and creative programme of social, cultural, sporting and fun-based activities which will appeal to all ages.  The Harvest Festival will showcase the very best that Bree has to offer and is capable of producing.  The organising committee wishes everyone a truly memorable and enjoyable weekend, with just one request—when you need to take a break from the enjoyment you would volunteer some time to helping everything run smoothly and orderly.  Every voluntary hour, regardless of day or time, would greatly assist.  If you can give an hour or more contact David at 087 7619555.

Barn Dance and BBQ Tickets Tickets for the Bree Harvest Festival Barn Dance and BBQ are now on sale for a price of €15 each. The Barn Dance will be taking place in the Festival Marquee on Saturday September 14th with doors opening at 9.30pm. Music on the night will be provided by the Colonials with a DJ afterwards. Tickets can be purchased in the Post Office, Keeleys Shop or by contacting 0873397749 or any committee member.

Scarecrow competition As part of the festival, a create your own scarecrow competition is being organised for children. Judging will take place on Sunday, September 15th at the Parish Field Day and scarecrows will be exhibited over the following week. Entry is €5. Volunteers and Support—As mentioned above volunteers to help with the setting up, running and clearing of the different events over the weekend are needed.  You can also help out by offering sponsorship for prizes etc, preparing or helping to run one of the many stalls or activities, provide some home produce etc. for the produce stall, provide bottles for the bottle stall, provide items for the Wheel of Fortune and of course we would love to see every family in the community coming and enjoying the many events over the weekend.  There really is something for everyone!  Check out the Festival Facebook page by typing into google: Facebook Bree Harvest Festival and clicking the first result.

Best Wishes Best wishes are extended to all the young people from the Parish returning to national school/second level/college after the Summer break.  Special wishes go to all the children who have started or will start their first days in National School.  We hope you enjoy making new friends and the new challenge of school.
