On Saturday September 10th at 9 p.m. (World
Suicide Prevention Day), the sky over the Promenade and the River Slaney in Enniscorthy
will be illuminated with chinese lanterns and floating candles. This event is being organised in remembrance of
our precious loved ones who we have lost through suicide.
A bucket collection will be held on the night to raise funds for 1 Life, the
suicide prevention helpline 1800 24 7 100. 1
Life is a freefone number which is open 24/7 for anyone who feels depressed, under
pressure and in need of immediate assistance. Please
come along to the Promenade (at the playground) and join us to release a glimmer of light
for our precious people and a symbol of hope for ourselves that our days in the future
without our loved ones will be a little easier. We
all need something nice to look forward to. Hope is like the sun which as we journey
towards it, casts a shadow of our burden behind us.
