MASSES  – No morning Mass on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday mornings next.  Vigil Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.   Mass on Thursday morning – Feast of the Immaculate Conception at 10 a.m.  Mass on Friday morning at 9 a.m.

BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Preparations are under way for this year’s edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations. BREE PENNY (EURO) BANK

Savings cheques for members of Bree Penny Bank will be available for collection from Bree Parish Office from Monday December 5th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Please call to the office to collect your deposit card and cheque.  Please note: For security reasons payments will not be retained in the Office overnight but secured in an external location each evening.

Bree AC AGM takes place on Tuesday 13th December at 8pm. All athletes' parents are welcome to attend.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT NEWS

Indoor Bowls

Bree Active Retirement Group will host Indoor Bowls in Bree Community Centre every Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. commencing Wednesday.  All are most welcome to join in.

Christmas Lunch

This year the group will travel to the Stanville Hotel for their Christmas Lunch on December 14th.   The cost is €20 per head and all are most welcome.  Full details will be given in future editions of the Newsletter or by contacting the Active Retirement Group at 089 4616413.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

Bree AC will hold their annual Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday 4th December commencing at 10.30 until 5.30.  There will be a huge variety of goods on display with great ideas for Christmas presents.   Special guest, Santa will be arriving at noon.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  Further details can be got by contacting 085 1545787 or 087 9704372

BALLYHOGUE HANDBALL CLUB

Well done to all the adult and juvenile participants in the ACME Winter League 2011. Best of luck to Billy Rossiter, Sonny Sheil, Galen Riordan, Anthony Butler and Colm Parnell who have made it into their respective finals this weekend in St. Josephs. The club would like to thank all those who supported our recent cabaret. €1396 was raised which will go towards the alley floor and equipment.

The next meeting of Bree Community Development Group will take place on Monday December 5th at 8.30 p.m. in Bree Community Centre.

As part of our waste minimisation programme No Junk Mail signs are available from Bree Post Office which you can stick up beside your letter box.  Please note you also need to write to An Post, Belefield, Enniscorthy to request that no junk mail be delivered to your address.

WEXFORD YOUTH’S WOMENS AFC

Wexford Youth's Women's AFC will play Raheny United on this Sunday December 4th at Ferrycarrig Park.   All support would be greatly appreciated.   Kick off is at 2 p.m.

YOUTH CLUB NEWS

Christmas Carol Singing

Christmas Carol rehearsals have begun and take place in Bree community centre on Thursdays from 8-9pm, all Junior and Senior members are asked to join in and support.... so all those who can carry a tune or simply like a bit of Christmas spirit and good cheer, be they sopranos, altos, warblers or 'hummers''... please come along as all proceeds go to the charity 'Hope".

No Club Nights

We would like to remind members that there will be no club nights on the 9th and 16th of December. The Junior Christmas party is on the 9th leaving Bree at 7.30 and returning 10.20pm.The Senior Disco will be on the 16th and all members attending are asked to be in Bree at 8.15pm and return to Bree at 12.40 am.

U15 Dodgeball Victory

Our U15's dodgeball team came home victorious on Sunday 27th of November last. The team players were: Aideen Byrne, Nicole Furlong, Lee Spratt,JackReilly, Dylan Dalton and Patrick Carley with Joseph Carley as sub. Well done to all.

Finally, Club nights are finished for the month will resume on the 6th of January.

COMMUNITY GAMES NEWS

Congratulations to the Bree Davidstown U10 team of Michael Humphreys, Rebecca Twomey, Liam Doyle, Ben Harrington and Benjamin Reidy who were runners up in the county final of the U10 draughts competition held in Bree Hall last Sunday. Bree were also represented in the U10 competition by a team of Isobel Reidy, Christopher Reidy, Kate Wilson, Adam Twomey, Lucy Kehoe and Sam Twomey. The Bree team in the U12 section was Matt Browne, Gilly Phelan, John Kehoe, Eamon Doyle and Anna Browne. The U14 team, which finished in third place, was Peter Doyle, Katie Humphrey, Peter Kelly, Sarah Phelan and Enda Minogue. Team managers were Adrian Twomey, Fiona Phelan, Jim Doyle and Martin Humphrey. The Bree Davidstown area was presented with their award for Best Area in Wexford in 2011 at the National Awards Ceremony held in Ballinasloe recently.
