to be submitted as soon as possible. YEAR OF THE
PRIEST 2009 2010 Our Holy Father Benedict
XVI has announced a special Year of the Priest.
This in order to encourage the striving for spiritual perfection of priests,
on which, above all, the effectiveness of their ministry depends. The year will commence run from June 19th,
the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, to the same date in 2010. A service of evening prayer to mark the
inauguration of the Year of the Priest will be held in St. Aidans
Cathedral, Enniscorthy on Friday evening, June 19th at 8 p.m. The service will be led by Most Rev. Denis
Brennan, D.D., Bishop of Ferns. Parishioners
from all the parishes of the diocese are invited to join with their priests in attendance. |

The Annual Church Gate
Collection in aid of the Rehab Foundation takes place on Saturday and Sunday June 6th
and 7th next. All support would
be greatly appreciated.
Celtic Roots are hosting a Full Irish Cabaret of Music, Song, Dance and Storytelling in The Courtyard, Ferns on Saturday, 6th June at 8.30pm. Admission is 10 with Family Concessions. A cabaret will be held in the 'Holy Grail', Ballindaggin on Saturday, 13th June. Your support would be appreciated.
The Bellevue Patron will be held on Sunday June 14th. The Galbally Patron will held on
Sunday June 21st.
Bree
ICA Guild held their monthly meeting on Tuesday evening last. The meeting was opened by Guild President Carmel
Mernagh and this was followed by the Secretary and Treasurers Reports. The Guild will elect a new President and Secretary
at the next Guild AGM on June 16th. The
next Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday June 9th and the competition
for June is for the nicest bookmark. Ladies are reminded to bring along their
toiletries for the Womens Refuge to the next meeting.
13 ICA members travelled to the Bloom Festival on
Friday May 29th which was organised by the Kilmore Quay ICA Guild and a total
of 100 Ladies had a great day out followed by dinner at Jack Whites on the way home. Bree ICA will close in June for the Summer Recess
and will recommence again in September. As
always new members are very welcome to join.

At the Schools National Finals in Tullamore last weekend, Amy Flanagan won the bronze medal in the High Jump and Tony Stafford won the bronze medal in the Long Jump. This weekend eleven relay teams travel to Kilkenny for the Leinster Club Relay
Championships and next weekend will be Leinster Championships for the U9-13 age groups.
Best wishes to all involved. Training continues in Ballyhogue GAA pitch on Monday and
Wednesdays from 6.30 to 8pm for all athletes aged seven years and over. All younger age
groups (4 to 6 years) are welcome from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Training donation is 2 per

An evening of uplifting music with Enniscorthy Gospel Choir and Ardfert Ladies Gospel Choir will take place on Saturday June 13th 2009 at 8.30 p.m. in Enniscorthy Golf Club. Tickets are available from the HOPE Shop, Millpark Road, the HOPE Centre, Weafer Street, Whites Electric, Market Square and from Gospel Choir and HOPE Committee members. This is a tribute concert to the late Edna James who was a founder member of HOPE and also a member of the Gospel Choir. All proceeds of the concert go to HOPE Cancer Support Centre.
Upcoming events planned by the Refurbishment Committee in aid of the Refurbishment Project are a 'Fun Marathon Relay' on Sunday, 5th July from 6-8pm around the newly developed GAA Walkway and 'Bree Fair Day' with lots of visiting and local attractions on the August Bank Holiday, 3rd August. The next Refurbishment meeting takes place on the 22nd June.
The semi finals of Whos Got Talent? take place in Bree Community Centre on this Friday, 12th June and on Sunday next, 14th of June and the Grand Final on Friday, 19th of June. Starting time on each evening is 8pm. A good nights entertainment is guaranteed each night.
