Choral Concert On
Friday evening Bree Church will suspend normal activities to become the venue
for the Harvest Festival Concert presented by members of the Church Choir with local
musicians and members of the Wexford Folk Orchestra. The
Gathering is
the theme for this varied music programme. For
added comfort bring a cushion and come along to participate in and enjoy this hour long
entertainment which will begin on the stroke of 7:00 pm. Admission
is free (donations to Clonmore Church Restoration Fund and the Hope Centre, Enniscorthy).
Lough Derg Wednesday 25th
September. A day dedicated to anyone who has been affected by suicide, including those who
minister and provide support. It is a guided day with three expert speakers as well as
time for peaceful reflection and prayer on the Island. Booking essential, contact Maureen

Bree Harvest Festival The inaugural Bree Harvest Festival will be held in Bree over the
weekend of September 13th, 14th and 15th. The weekend will include events like the Trad
night, Bree Barn Dance, Local "Dancers and Chancers" Competition, Tug of War,
Celebrity Challenge GAA Match and many more. The success of the weekend will depend on the
number of volunteers that can assist. Volunteers are in particular needed to set up and
man the stands on the Family Fun Field Day on Sunday the 15th. Every voluntary hour
regardless of day or time would be greatly appreciated. If you can give one hour or more

Barn Dance and BBQ-Tickets
for the Bree Harvest Festival Barn Dance and BBQ are now on sale for a price of 15
each. The Barn Dance will be taking place in the Festival Marquee on Saturday September
14th with doors opening at 9.30pm. Music on the night will be provided by the Colonials
with a DJ afterwards. Tickets can be purchased in the Post Office, Keelys Shop or by
contacting 0873397749 or any committee member. This is an over 18s event and will require
ID.
Scarecrow
Competition
- As part of the festival, a create your own scarecrow competition is being organised for
primary, post primary and adults. Judging will
take place on Sunday, September 15th at the Parish Field Day and scarecrows will be
exhibited over the following week. Entry is 5.

for the Book, Bric & Brac for the Festival Weekend Field Day may be left
into Bree Community Centre from 7 to 10pm on this Thursday evening, at any time
during the photographic exhibition on Friday or Saturday or on Sunday morning after Mass.

volunteers to help with the setting up, running and clearing of the different events over
the weekend are needed. You can also help out
by offering sponsorship for prizes etc, preparing or helping to run one of the many stalls
or activities, provide some home produce etc. for the produce stall, provide bottles for
the bottle stall, provide items for the Wheel of Fortune and of course we would love to
see every family in the community coming and enjoying the many events over the weekend. There really is something for everyone!
Ballyhogue Ladies Football
- Well done to the U 16 girls who beat St Martins with a score of 3-7 to 1-7 and are now
through to the Co Final. The final expects to be played in two weeks and we wish the girls
and mentors the very best of luck with the game. All support would be greatly
appreciated.
Bree Youth Club News
- The 2013/14 Club Year is now underway and new members are welcome any Friday evening.
All new members must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to register.
Please note that there is no club night on Friday 13th September due to the Bree
Harvest Festival Celebrations.
