BREE PATRON – The Annual Bree Patron will be held on Sunday 16th August, commencing with Prayers and Blessing of the graves in Clonmore Cemetery at 2.00 p.m. and ending with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church.

Upcoming Events

The Calendar of Events for Summer 2009 are as follows:    Ferrycarrig Regatta on Sunday August 9th, Maudlintown Regatta on Sunday August 16th and the All Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships in Waterville, Co. Kerry on August 22nd and 23rd.  Training every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30 p.m.

BREE CEP LTD – APPLICATIONS FOR VACANCIES

Applications are now being taken for the proposed Bree Community Employment Project 2009/10 due to commence in October 2009.  Positions available include General Maintenance Workers, Childcare Workers, Community Visitation Workers, Clerical Workers, Sports Centre and Community Centre Caretakers.  The Project covers the areas of Bree, Galbally, Ballyhogue and Glynn.   Application forms are available from Bree Parish Office as from Tuesday next.  Important – Garda vetting is required to participate on this programme.  You will be required to complete a Garda vetting form giving permission for information to be obtained from the Garda Central Vetting Unit.  All successful applicants must comply with FAS eligibility criteria.

TENNIS CLUB NEWS

Fun Tennis Camp

As a follow on from Parks Tennis, William Spratt Murphy will be running a Fun Tennis Camp from Monday August 17th to Friday August 21st from 10am until 1pm each day.   Children will play tennis games and there will be face painting and more.   Special family rates.  For further information contact William on 085 143 4446.

Fun Tennis Day

Bree Tennis Club is planning a Fun Day with coach Clyde Gatell, on Monday August 10th from 2 until 4pm.  €2 per child but club members are free. 

 CELTIC ROOTS SEISIUN


Seisiun with Celtic Roots in association with Comhaltas and Treacy's Hotel take place every Tuesday night at 8.30pm in the Bellefield GAA Complex, Enniscorthy for the months of July and August. Admission is €10 with family concessions. Contact 087-7535354

Best wishes to the Skittles, Girls Soccer and Variety Teams which compete in the National Community Games Finals in Athlone next weekend.

NIALL MELLON TOWNSHIP TRUST FUNDRAISER

Robert Kehoe, Kereight will be going to Africa in November to help as part of the “Niall Mellon Township Building Project”.  In order to raise funds there will be a Monster BBQ and Wine Tasting in Ferrycarrig Park, home of the Wexford Youths FC on Saturday August 15th starting at 8 p.m. with excellent food cooked by Phelim Byrne (Steak Dinner and Dessert for all) and music and craic galore till late.  Tickets cost €25 each and are available from Galbally Shop, Bree Shop or from Robert or Brid at 086 0622522.  All support would be gratefully appreciated.

BREE ATHLETIC CLUB

Bree Athletic Club training will resume after its summer break in mid September. Training continues for the athletes competing in the National Community Games Finals which will be held at the end of this month.

ENNISCORTHY STREET RHYTHMS DANCE FEST

14th, 15th and 16th August 2009

3-day Spectacular event of Music and Dance

Enniscorthy Street Rhythms Dance Fest is in its second year and this year we hope the sun will shine, if not all activities will move indoors - the show will go on.

All events are for you and your family’s enjoyment and, with the exception of the Céili Mór - €10, The Big Dance Night with ‘The Runaway Boys’ - €10, and the Family Treasure Hunt - €5, are free of charge.

BREE FAIR DAY

Many thanks to all who supported the Bree Fair Day which was held on Monday last. Cards for the Householders Draw should be returned to Eddie not later than Monday 10th August.
