NOTICE FROM CLONROCHE NATIONAL
SCHOOL RAFFLE SCAM
It has been brought to the
attention of The Board of Management of Clonroche National School that raffle tickets are
being sold in the Ballybrennan / Bree areas supposedly in aid of Clonroche National School
Building Fund. People are asked to note
that no such raffle is being held and please do not buy the tickets. BREE PARISH JOURNAL
Preparations are under way for
this years edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish
are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of
Sept. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from
times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the
area including notable family celebrations. All items to be advised to Jim and Clare

Bree
Community Childcare Facility intends to open for business in Spring 2010. The facility will provide all day childcare for
the following groups Babies 4 mths+, Toddlers, Pre-School, After School. Anyone wishing to register an interest is asked to
please contact Nicola Payne at 086 2392801 for further information. Please note existing classes and waiting
list will transfer to the new facility when it becomes operational and parents of existing
pupils need not re-apply. If you have any
questions please contact any of the Childcare Committee.
JORDAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC
Jordan
School of Music will commence classes in Galbally Hall on Monday October 12th
next. This three teacher school will cater
for beginners and advanced pupils in Tin Whistle, Flute, Accordion, Keyboard, Fiddle,
Banjo and Mandolin. All are most welcome. Registration will take place at 6 p.m. on October
12th in Galbally Hall with classes commencing at 6.30 p.m. For further information contact James at 086

The
next committee meeting will be on October 13th and the next guild meeting will
be on October 20th. New members
are most welcome to come along. Ladies are
reminded to bring along toiletries for the Womens Refuge in Wexford. FASHION SHOW
A
Fashion Show, in aid of Bree Community Centre Refurbishment, will be held in the Riverside
Park Hotel on Wednesday, 4th Nov at 8.15pm. Tickets at 10 each will be
available shortly from any Committee Member. FETAC LEVEL 5 OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID
We
are currently compiling a list of names of people interested in taking the Fetac Level 5
Occupational First Aid Course. We would hope
to run the course over a number of nights in the Community Centre subject to interest. This course is certified by Fetac and the Irish
Red Cross and is valid for two years. It also
includes training in the use of the defibrillator. Anyone

Bree Community Centre
Refurbishment AGM takes place in Bree Community Centre on Monday, 19th October
at 8.30pm. All are welcome to attend. BREE AC NEWS
Bree
AC training for 12s and over has resumed on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm.
Indoor training resumed in Galbally Hall on Friday night last. Cost per session is 2
to a max of 5 per family. Please check with Una re Training sessions if athlete is
not attending on a regular basis. The Co Cross Country Championships takes place on this
Sunday in Adamstown & 18th of October in Tagoat with the Leinster Championships Part 1
taking place in Adamstown on 25th Oct. The Annual Club Presentation Evening
takes place in Leisure Max on Thursday, 29th Oct at 7pm. It is essential to
book immediately. Contact Una or Clare for full details. The autumn newsletter is now
available and please support our fundraising draw which will be held on the 1st
and 3rd Friday of each month. ENNISCORTHY CREDIT UNION THIRD LEVEL SCHOLARSHIP DRAW
Enniscorthy
Credit Union are again holding their Third Level Scholarship Draw this year. Students wishing to apply must be members of the
Credit Union, or their parents must be members before October 24th 2009. Students must be commencing a Third Level Course
(of 3 years duration or more) for the first time in 2009.
Applications must be accompanied by a letter from the college verifying
students registration CAO offer will not suffice. The closing date for applications is on or before
the close of business of Enniscorthy Credit Union on Saturday October 31st
2009. The Prizes on offer are 1st
prize - 1,500 per year for 3 years, 2nd prize - 1,000 once off, 3rd,

FEIRME
Bree Macra na Feirme held their
AGM in Galbally Hall last Friday night 25th September. The following officers
were elected for the coming year: Chairperson; Mick Roche; Secretary; Sinead Hughes;
Treasurer; Sinead Fortune; PRO; Marie Doyle; Competitions Sec; Aine Doyle; Young Farmers;
Tom Kelly; Development; Brendan Byrne, President; Niall Doyle. 2010 is a very important
year for the club as it celebrates 50 years in existence and to mark the occasion, Bree
Macra hopes to gain as many members as possible, both new and old and to participate in as
many competitions as possible. These include Know Your Agriculture Quiz,
Seven-a-side football, Indoor Soccer, Capers,
Public Speaking, Stock Judging, Debating and Volleyball. Anyone interested should attend
the next meeting in Bree Hall on Friday, 9th of Oct at 9pm or alternatively

Edermine Ferry Rowing Club AGM
will now take place on Thursday October 22nd at 8pm. PTAA DINNER DANCE
The PTAA Annual Dinner Dance
will be held on Wednesday November 11th in the Riverside Park Hotel commencing
at 8.30 p.m. Music is by Billy Kirwan. Tickets costing 30 each are now available
from Eddie Dunne. BREE YOUTH CLUB
NEWS
The senior members will travel to
a Halloween Disco in Camross on Friday 23rd October. Admission and bus
costs 8 and all money and permission slips should be returned by October 16th.
On Friday October 30th the juniors will travel to a Halloween Disco in
Marshalstown. Admission and bus is 5. Money and permission slip should
also be returned by October 16th. This disco will be from 8pm until 10pm
so the children should be back to Bree by 10.30pm. The bus will depart Bree at
7.30pm so juniors should meet their leaders at the hall at 7.15pm. The average age
of the children attending this disco will be 10 years to 12/13 years. The senior
disco will be at the usual time of 9pm until 12 midnight. Seniors will meet in Bree
at 8pm to travel to the disco. There will be no youth club on the 23rd or
the 30th of October as a result of club members and leaders travelling to
discos. BREE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP MEETING
There will be a meeting of Bree Community Development Group on Thursday evening, October 22nd at 8.30 p.m. in Bree Community Centre.
