BREE TIDY TOWNS MEETING

There will be a meeting of Bree Tidy Towns Committee on Tuesday evening, November 15th at 8 p.m. in Bree Hall.  On the agenda for the meeting will be the possibility of a Community Garden.

BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Preparations are under way for this year’s edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of Sept. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations. BREE YOUTH CLUB NEWS

Indoor Soccer League

Bree Youth Club Seniors put forward 3 teams for the FDYS Indoor Soccer League which took place at the AstroTurf on Sunday 6th of November last. The girls U15 team was: Aideen Byrne,Keira Byrne, Nicole Furlong,Kim Horan,Laoise Rodgers,Clare Jordan and Kathlyn Furlong.  Congrats to the boy's U15's which went through to the final, the team
was : Adam Buckley, Patrick Carley, Seosaimh Cash,Dylan Dalton, Shane Doyle, Philip Martin, Lee Spratt and Dean Power. The boys U18's were: Ronan Minogue, Cian Rodgers,Graham Parker, Conor Byrne, Enda Byrne, and Patrick Flynn. Well done to all!

Please Note:

The Youth Club would like all members to note that monies for the disco must now be payed on the night names are taken for the discos.  This is in order to avoid some of the confusion that has happened with last minute cancellations and bus delays on the night.

GALBALLY NS TABLE QUIZ

A table quiz will be held in Ryans of Galbally on Friday 18th November in aid of Scoil Eoin Baiste, Galbally.  €20 per table of  4.  There will also be an auction with a twist on the night.  Support would be appreciated and a great night is guaranteed.

The Annual Christmas Craft fair takes place in Bree Hall on Sunday, 4th December.   Full details in future editions of the Newsletter.

Just a quick reminder about the Mapalerter service that is now available on www.mapalerter.com/wexford.  With winter approaching and possible bad weather, you can now register to receive an alert if there is a problem with water supply, roads, flooding, severe weather etc in your area.   All alerts are based on your locality – you register where you live and any alerts you receive will only be related to your area. Registration is free and it costs nothing to receive alerts.

To register for Wexford Alerts – visit  http://www.mapalerter.com/wexford and click the register now button to submit your account details.  Once you have registered your account you can log into change your settings e.g. home location, work location, alert choices etc.  You will receive free text, email and phone alerts as soon as your Council issues them for your area.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT NEWS

November Social Afternoon

The November Social Afternoon will take place on Wednesday November 16th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Bree Hall.  All are most welcome.

Indoor Bowls

Bree Active Retirement Group will host Indoor Bowls in Bree Community Centre every Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. commencing Wednesday.  All are most welcome to join in.

Christmas Lunch

This year the group will travel to the Stanville Hotel for their Christmas Lunch on December 14th.   The cost is €20 per head and all are most welcome.  Full details will be given in future editions of the Newsletter or by contacting the Active Retirement Group at 089 4616413.

WEXFORD YOUTHS WOMEN’S AFC

Wexford Youths Women’s AFC will play Castlebar Celtic on Sunday November 13th with the kick off at 2 p.m. in Ferrycarrig Park.  Please come along and support the Wexford Women in their first match in the Bus Eireann National Women’s League.  All support would be greatly appreciated.

BALLYHOGUE GAA CLUB NEWS

Club AGM

The AGM of Ballyhogue G.A.A. club will be held on Friday 25th November at 8.00 in the meeting room of Bree Hall. All club members are invited to attend to have their say on the direction of the club for the coming year. Club officers and managements for adult and under-age teams will be elected at the AGM so it is important that as many members as possible are in attendance on the night. We look forward to seeing you there.

Club Lotto

The Ballyhogue G.A.A. club Lotto will be €7,600 for the next draw which takes place on 16th November in Ryans of Galbally. There were three Match 3 winners in the most recent draw, Bridget Carbery, Tom Kirwan and Matthew Murphy. Thanks to all sellers and to all those who buy a ticket every fortnight.
