will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to 68 young people from our three parish
schools on this Friday at 11:00 am. Congratulations
to the Confirmation candidates and their families on this important occasion in their
lives and the life of the parish.
Parish Journal Congratulations
to Jim & Clare Doyle for their work in compiling and producing the 2014 biennial
edition of Bree Parish Journal. It is
currently available for purchase locally. The 16th edition of the Bree Parish Journal contains
historical articles as well as reviews of local organisations within the parish for 2012
& 2013.
First Confession Congratulations
to the twenty three children from Scoil Seosamh Naofa who made their first confession on
last Wednesday. They now look forward to First
Communion Day.

AC Bree AC athletes had wonderful success at
the Juvenile Leinster Indoor Championships which were held in Athlone last weekend. Ryan
Murray won three Gold medals (U17 60m Hurdles, 200m and 60m Sprint in which he claimed the
Leinster Record of 7.21sec). Chloe Whelan won silver in the U17 60m Hurdles and silver in
the 60m where she missed out on Gold by a 100rth of a sec. Her sister Katie
also did well winning silver in the U12 60m Hurdles, Long Jump and 60m. Aoife Cloke
Rochford won silver in the U16 60mHurdles and bronze in the 60m. Sophie Codd won bronze in
the U13 60m Hurdles, Sophie McCabe won bronze in the U17 200m and Nicole Furlong won
bronze in the U16 High Jump. Well done to all involved.
ICA Monthly Meeting The monthly meeting of Bree ICA
will take place in the Community Centre on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Don't forget your daffodils ladies. All new members are more than welcome.

Association Internet Safety Seminar Bree
parents association in conjunction with St Joseph's N.S will host a FREE seminar on
'Internet safety' on Wednesday 19th March at 7.30 in the school. Tea/coffee

Utd Dinner Dance Bree United's Annual Dinner
Dance will take place on the 9th of May this year, in the Stanville Lodge Hotel. Tickets will cost 25, which includes dinner,
bar extension and the fabulous Wicker House band. It
promises to be a fantastic evening so book your tickets early. On another note, the U12 boys team are
holding a couple of fundraising events to help towards their trip to Sheffield. The first
is on Saturday the 15th of March in Ryan's pub in Galbally, entrance is 5 with music
by "Down and Out. Cabaret starts at
9pm and all support would be greatly appreciated. The
second is on St. Patricks day in Macmine, the U12's will be playing a soccer match against
their parents. All sport most welcome
for what promises to be a very entertaining match.

Active Retirement News The next social
afternoon of Bree Active Retirement Association takes place on Wednesday 19th March in
Bree Community Centre. New members are
always welcome. Bowling takes place every
other Wednesday from 2.00p.m until 4.00pm.
Bree Community Development AGM The AGM of Bree
Community Development Group will take place on Monday March 24th at 8.30 p.m. in Bree
Community Centre. All are most welcome to
attend.
Voice
of Ireland Padraig Byrne Pádraig
Byrne is a young Wexfordman who is one of the final 24 that are through to the live shows
on The Voice of Ireland. We are calling on all Wexford people and
parishes to get behind Pádraig and support him. Pádraig's live show in on March
23rd 2014 on RTE One at 6.30pm where the public can vote and determine Pádraig's
future in the competition. We would really appreciate it if you could include the above
details in your Parish newsletter on Sunday March 23rd and if possible
the 16th March also and encourage people to vote for Pádraig and get behind our young
Wexford talent. |
