Annual Bree Patron will be held on this Sunday 16th August, commencing with
Prayers and Blessing of the graves in Clonmore Cemetery at 2.00 p.m. and ending with
Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church. |

The Calendar of Events for the remainder of the summer
is: Maudlintown Regatta on this Sunday August 16th and the All Ireland Coastal Rowing
Championships in Waterville, Co. Kerry on August 22nd and 23rd. Training every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at
7.30 p.m.
Applications are now being taken for the proposed Bree
Community Employment Project 2009/10 due to commence in October 2009. Positions available include General Maintenance
Workers, Childcare Workers, Community Visitation Workers, Clerical Workers, Sports Centre
and Community Centre Caretakers. The Project
covers the areas of Bree, Galbally, Ballyhogue and Glynn.
Application forms are available from Bree Parish Office. Important Garda vetting is required to
participate on this programme. You will be
required to complete a Garda vetting form giving permission for information to be obtained
from the Garda Central Vetting Unit. All
successful applicants must comply with FAS eligibility criteria.
William
Spratt Murphy will be running a Fun Tennis Camp from this Monday August 17th to Friday
August 21st from 10am until 1pm each day. Children will play tennis games and there
will be face painting and more. Special family rates. For further information

Bree
Active Retirement August Social Afternoon will take place on Wednesday next, 19th
August from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. in Bree Community Centre. The Annual outing to Our Ladys Island will
take place on Friday 28th August leaving Bree Community Centre at 1.00 p.m. approx and
will include a meal out, all most welcome to attend both events.
Seisiun with Celtic Roots in association with Comhaltas and Treacy's Hotel take place
every Tuesday night at 8.30pm in the Bellefield GAA Complex, Enniscorthy for the months of
July and August. Admission is 10 with family concessions. Contact 087-7535354
Best
wishes to the Skittles, Girls Soccer and Variety Teams, which compete in the National
Community Games Finals in Athlone this weekend and best wishes to the twenty eight
athletes next weekend.
Robert
Kehoe, Kereight will be going to Africa in November to help as part of the Niall
Mellon Township Building Project. In
order to raise funds there will be a Monster BBQ and Wine Tasting in Ferrycarrig Park,
home of the Wexford Youths FC on Saturday August 15th starting at 8 p.m. with
excellent food cooked by Phelim Byrne (Steak Dinner and Dessert for all) and music and
craic galore till late. Tickets cost 25
each and are available from Galbally Shop, Bree Shop or from Robert or Brid at 086
0622522. All support would be gratefully
appreciated.
Camogie Training for U12s takes place in Ballyhogue GAA
grounds on Tuesday evenings from 6.30 to 7,15pm. All girls in this age group are welcome
to participate.

Bree
Soccer Club is starting up a new Youths Team this year. The trainer will be Ronan Murphy. New members are welcome. We would appreciate your support at our
fundraising cabaret on 29th August in Byrnes Lounge, Bree. Tickets are on sale for 5. Music by: On the Run.
Bree
Athletic Club athletes are taking a well-earned break after additional successes at recent
National Track & Field Championships. Gold medal winners were Cormac Byrne (U14 Walk),
Paddy Devereux and Ciaran Joyce (U15 Intercounty Relay), Tony Stafford and Dylan Walsh
(U17 Intercounty Relay). Tony Stafford won Silver in the U16 200m. Bronze medals were won
by Shane Byrne (U16 Walk), Amy Flanagan (U16 Combined Event), Tony Stafford (U16 Combined
Event), Catriona Corcoran (U17 Combined Event), Shane Murphy (U19 Intercounty Relay) and
John Egan (Senior Walk). Well done to all involved. Athletic Club training will resume
after the summer break in mid September. Training continues for the athletes competing in
the National Community Games Finals in Athlone.
Refurbishment
work on Bree Community Centre began last week with the installation of new windows. Work
on the new extension is due to begin on Monday next and should be completed by February.
The contact for this phase of the Refurbishment has been awarded to OCM
Registering
for School Boys Soccer for U10, U12, U14, and U16s will take place in Bree Community
Centre on Monday 31st August at 7.30 p.m. If
this is your first time to register please bring a Birth Certificate. The fee for registering is 20 per child and
under 10s must be 9 by 31st December 2009.
The
Annual Pioneer Pilgrimage to Our Ladys Island takes place on Sunday 30th
August. Mass will be at 3.00 p.m. Everybody
welcome to attend.
