USED CLOTHING COLLECTION

A collection of used clothing for the homeless orphans in Kenya will be taken up on Friday morning, January 23rd.  Items should be placed in bags and left in Bree Church/School Carpark before 12 noon on Friday morning.  For further information contact Marie at 087 6890995.  All support would be greatly appreciated.

BALLYHOGUE GAA CLUB NEWS

QUARTER FINALS OF JIM BYRNE CUP

Ballyhogue Minor Footballers will play Shelmaliers in the Quarter Final of the Jim Byrne Cup on Sunday at 1.30 p.m. in Bree.  All support would be greatly appreciated.

AGM

The date for the Clubs Annual General Meeting has been set for January 30th at 8 p.m. in Bree Community Centre.  All are most welcome.

BREE EURO BANK

2008 was another bumper year for savings in Bree Euro Bank (formerly penny bank) with in excess of €200,000 being paid out to 320 members in recent weeks.  The 2009 Euro Bank is open for savings and it is an ideal way to save for Christmas.  The Euro Bank is open to everyone and you are free to save as much or as little as you wish each week.  Saving envelopes are available from Byrnes Shop and Bree Post Office.

BREE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP MEETING

A meeting of Bree Community Development Group will be held on Monday evening, January 19th at 8.30 p.m. in the Community Centre.

BREE HALL COMMITTEE MEETING

A meeting of Bree Hall Committee will take place on Monday evening, January 26th at 8.30 p.m. in the Community Centre.

COMMUNITY GAMES ACTIVITIES

Bree/Davidstown Community Games will be involved in the following activities over the coming weeks. Draughts on Jan 25th and Chess on Jan 30th, (Classes continue in Bree Hall on Tuesday nights at 7pm) U13 Choir and U16 Choir on Feb 1st (Auditions for both Choirs take place in Bree Community Centre on this Thursday, 15th Jan from 6pm to 7pm. Contact 086-0501348 for further information), Group Dancing on 6th Feb; Cross Country on Feb 7th (Contact 087-9704372 for further information), Group Singing and Group Music on 15th Feb and Table Quiz on 18th Feb. BREE ICA GUILD NEWS

The next meeting of the group will be on January 20th.  New members are most welcome. 

BREE ACTIVE RETIREMENT SOCIAL AFTERNOON

The January Social Afternoon will take place on Wednesday afternoon next, January 21st from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Bree Community Centre.  All are most welcome to attend.

TRAD MUSIC NIGHT

There will be a night of traditional Irish music and song in Byrnes Bar on Friday night the 30th of January.  The music will be played by some of Wexfords best Trad musicians! Come along and have a great night with your friends and the locals in Byrnes of Bree.

NATIONAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL 2009 OVERSEAS WALK

Fancy a new challenge for 2009?  This year the National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght are raising funds by encouraging outdoor enthusiasts and walkers alike to Trek Tuscany from September 21st to September 27th.  This weeklong trek in Tuscany takes you to Italy’s most magnificent cities, to the heart of its artistic and architectural heritage and also to the greatest cuisine on the countless Tuscan Hilltop villages.  All this and an excellent charity to do it for – if you are interested in participating, please send an email to trek@thenationalchildrenshospital.ie or call the fundraising office at 01 4142375.
