BREE CEP LTD – APPLICATIONS

Applications are now being taken for the proposed 2011/12 Bree Community Employment Project which is proposed to commence in October 2011.  The project covers Bree, Galbally, Ballyhogue and Glynn areas (Church of Irl, Clonmore, Bree Village Tidy Towns, Bree Church and Cemeteries, Bree Community Centre, Bree Community Playschool, Bree Active Retirement Group, Ballyhogue GAA Club, Bree Utd. Soccer Club, Galbally Church, Village and Community Centre, Galbally Community Playschool, Ballyhogue Church and Village, Glynn Church, Village and Community Centre and Whitechurch Cemetery).  Successful applicants must fulfil FAS qualifying criteria and applicants will be shortlisted for interview.  Garda clearance and vetting procedures will also be required.  For information and application forms please contact Bree Parish Office – 053 9247613 or email breeparish@eircom.net. GAA REUNION

Reunion Night on Saturday October 22nd to honour the 1961 team (50 years), 1971 team (40 years) and the 1986 team (25 years) in the Ferrycarrig Hotel at 8pm. Tickets costing €20 each are available from Nicholas Doyle, Liam Leacy or any other committee member.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

Bree Parent and Toddler Group every Fri from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm in Bree Hall.  All are welcome to come along and meet people for tea or coffee while your little one plays (Fee €2.00).  For more information contact Lisa on 087-6871034

FASHION SHOW

A Fashion Show, in aid of Phase 3 of Bree Community Centre Refubishment, will be held in the Riverside Park Hotel on Wednesday, 21st September at 8.15pm. Clothes from Glamour and Ottiva Boutiques, both located in Enniscorthy, will be modeled. Tickets at €10 each are available from committee members, at Bree Post Office and will be available at the door on the night. For those in attendance there will be opportunities to win one of the many prizes which include the door prize sponsored by Aisling Hair & Beauty, Wexford, two sponsored makeovers of vouchers for €100 from each boutique, Hair Styling by Bridget’s Hairdressers, Court St and Make-up by Janet Kehoe, Coolteigue plus a most Suitably Dressed Lady prize. Make up for the models on the night is provided by Ciara Somers, Donanore and ... Ballymurn and hairstyling is by Fidelma English of Bizzy Fingers in the Abbey Sq Centre. Interval Entertainment will also be provided and the compere for the night is Liam Sharkey. Come and enjoy a night out with friends. Your support would be very much appreciated.

BREE YOUTH CLUB

Bree Youth Club is back in action every Friday evening with Juniors from 7-8pm and Seniors from 8-9 m. All are welcome but children must be accompanied by a parent in order to register. Anyone who has not completed a registration form will not be admitted. Friday the 9th of September was our first night back and was a great success with a full turn-out for both Juniors and Seniors.8 of our Senior members will be doing leadership training with the FDYS this year and we look forward to their contribution to the club and it's younger members. We would like to remind Senior members that the first Senior disco is on the 30th of September and names must be submitted by the 16th of September to reserve a place. The cost is 8 Euro and prompt payment means we can avoid delays that can occur when monies need to be collected on the bus before leaving. The bus leaves Bree at 8.15 pm so please be at the community centre for 8pm at the latest. If not attending the disco please text the club mobile and remember to include your name in the text as we do not keep members numbers in the club mobile. The club mobile number is :  085 775 1175

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Galen Riordan (Ballyhogue) and Padraig Foley(Castlebridge) on a fantastic win in the recent 60x30 U16 All Ireland Doubles Championships. They overcame a Tipperary pairing in an enthralling final on a scoreline of 21-9 21-16.

BREE ACTIVE RETIREMENT UPCOMING OUTING

Bree Active Retirement Groups next outing will be lunch in the Stanville House Hotel on Wednesday September 21st with the usual entertainment.  The Bus will leave Bree Hall at 12 noon and return at 5 p.m.  The cost is €20 per person.  For more information please contact 089 4616413.

KARATE LESSONS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS

Karate lessons for children are taking place in the Hall on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, under the instruction of Mr Liam Croke, who holds a black belt in Kenpo Karate.  The cost of the lessons is €6.50 per child, with sibling discounts. All children from 5 to 15 are very welcome to come along.   Also on Tuesday evening from 8.00 to 9.00 p.m. All teenagers from 16 upwards and adults welcome.  Call Barbara for more information on 087-2461445.

BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Preparations are under way for this year’s edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of Sept. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations. CLOTHING AND TEXTILE COLLECTION..

Due to the success of the last collection, Bree Utd soccer club will again take donations of textiles, clean bed linen, shoes, handbags, curtains,, belts, clean clothing etc... please bring them along to community centre on Friday 30th September from 6pm onwards. All donations appreciated.

UNDER 8 INDOOR HURLING

Boys and girls under 8 indoor hurling will commence on MONDAY 26th of September in Bree Community Centre from 7.00pm to 8.00pm.All children are welcome but must have a helmet and shin guards and €2 (hurls will be provided, do not buy hurls at this stage).Children must be under 8 and have completed one year in primary school.
