BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Preparations are under way for this year’s edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of Sept. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations. BREE COMMUNITY CHILDCARE FACILITY

Bree Community Childcare Facility intends to open for business in Spring 2010.  The facility will provide all day childcare for the following groups – Babies 4 mths+, Toddlers, Pre-School, After School.  Anyone wishing to register an interest is asked to please contact Nicola Payne at 086 2392801 for further information.  Please note – existing classes and waiting list will transfer to the new facility when it becomes operational and parents of existing pupils need not re-apply.  If you have any questions please contact any of the Childcare Committee.  

BREE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP MEETING

There will be a meeting of Bree Community Development Group on Thursday evening, October 22^nd at 8.30 p.m. in Bree Community Centre.

FASHION SHOW

A Fashion Show, in aid of Bree Community Centre Refurbishment, will be held in the Riverside Park Hotel on Wednesday, 4^th Nov at 8.15pm. Tickets at €10 each will be available shortly from any Committee Member.

PTAA DINNER DANCE

The PTAA Annual Dinner Dance will be held on Wednesday November 11^th in the Riverside Park Hotel commencing at 8.30 p.m.  Music is by Billy Kirwan.  Tickets costing €30 each are now available from Eddie Dunne.

BREE HALL REFURBISHMENT AGM

Bree Community Centre Refurbishment AGM takes place in Bree Community Centre on Monday, 19^th October at 8.30pm. All are welcome to attend.

BREE TIDY TOWNS MEETING

Bree Tidy Towns meeting on Tuesday October 20^th at 8 p.m. in Byrnes Lounge to discuss 2009 results and improvements.  All are most welcome to attend.

BREE ACTIVE RETIREMENT SOCIAL AFTERNOON

The October Social Afternoon will take place on Wednesday next October 21^st from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Bree Hall.  All are most welcome.  The Christmas Social Afternoon will take place on Wednesday afternoon December 2^nd.  Full details in future editions of the Newsletter.

ENNISCORTHY CREDIT UNION THIRD LEVEL SCHOLARSHIP DRAW

Enniscorthy Credit Union are again holding their Third Level Scholarship Draw this year.  Students wishing to apply must be members of the Credit Union, or their parents must be members before October 24^th 2009.  Students must be commencing a Third Level Course (of 3 years duration or more) for the first time in 2009.   Applications must be accompanied by a letter from the college verifying student’s registration – CAO offer will not suffice.  The closing date for applications is on or before the close of business of Enniscorthy Credit Union on Saturday October 31^st 2009.  The Prizes on offer are – 1^st prize - €1,500 per year for 3 years, 2^nd prize - €1,000 once off, 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th and 6^th prize - €500 once off.  Application forms are available from the Credit Union Offices, Abbey Square, Enniscorthy – telephone 053 9299835, e-mail info@enniscorthycu.ie, website www.enniscorthycu.ie

BALLYHOGUE GAA CLUB CABARET

Ballyhogue GAA Club will host a Cabaret in Byrnes, Bree on Saturday evening, November 14^th.  Tickets costing €5 each are now available from Club members.   Music is by McBride with door prizes and raffle on the night.  The Under 21 Football District Final Medals will also be presented on the night.  All support would be greatly appreciated.

BREE YOUTH CLUB NEWS

The senior members will travel to a Halloween Disco in Camross on Friday 23^rd October.  Admission and bus costs €8 and all money and permission slips should be returned by October 16^th.  On Friday October 30^th the juniors will travel to a Halloween Disco in Marshalstown.  Admission and bus is €5.  This disco will be from 8pm until 10pm so the children should be back to Bree by 10.30pm.  The bus will depart Bree at 7.30pm so juniors should meet their leaders at the hall at 7.15pm.  The average age of the children attending this disco will be 10 years to 12/13 years.  The senior disco will be at the usual time of 9pm until 12 midnight.  Seniors will meet in Bree at 8pm to travel to the disco.  There will be no youth club on the 23^rd or the 30^th of October as a result of club members and leaders travelling to discos.

EDERMINE FERRY ROWING CLUB AGM

Edermine Ferry Rowing Club AGM will now take place on  Thursday October 22^nd at 8pm.

MACRA 60^TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER DANCE

Tickets for the 60^th Anniversary Macra Na Feirme Dinner Dance to be held on Saturday November 21^st in the Talbot Hotel, Wexford are currently on sale at €25 each.  Tickets can be purchased by contacting James Forrestal (087) 1307142  A limited number available so get yours now to avoid disappointment.

BREE ICA GUILD REPORT

The next guild meeting will be on October 20^th.   New members are most welcome to come along.   Ladies are reminded to bring along toiletries for the Womens Refuge in Wexford.
