LTD APPLICATIONS FOR VACANCIES
Applications are now being taken for the proposed Bree
Community Employment Project 2009/10 due to commence in October 2009. Positions available include General Maintenance
Workers, Childcare Workers, Community Visitation Workers, Clerical Workers, Sports Centre
and Community Centre Caretakers. The Project
covers the areas of Bree, Galbally, Ballyhogue and Glynn.
Application forms are available from Bree Parish Office. Important Garda vetting is required to
participate on this programme. You will be
required to complete a Garda vetting form giving permission for information to be obtained
from the Garda Central Vetting Unit. All
successful applicants must comply with FAS eligibility criteria. CLOSING
DATE FOR APPLICATIONS IS FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25TH. CAMOGIE TRAINING
Camogie Training for U12s takes
place in Ballyhogue GAA grounds on Tues evenings from 6.30 to 7,15pm. BREE AC NEWS
Bree AC will resume training
for the winter season on Monday, 28th September. More details at a later stage.

Enniscorthy
Active Retirement will host a Fundraising Fashion Show on Wed evening, Oct 7th
commencing at 8 p.m. in the Riverside Park Hotel. Proceeds
raised are in aid of the Alzheimer Unit at St. Johns Hospital. Fashions on show will be from Glamour, London
Milan and Alexon at Shaws. Tickets costing
10 each are available from the Riverside, participating boutiques and Enniscorthy
Active Retirement Committee members. All

Preparations are under way for
this years edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish
are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of
Sept. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from
times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the
area including notable family celebrations. All items to be advised to Jim and Clare

Tin Whistle and Flute lessons
will resume on Tues night next, Sept 15th for beginners and advanced students

Well
done to the Under 21 Ballyhogue football team who won the district final against Duffry
Rovers on Saturday in Patrick's Park. The
final score was Ballyhogue 4:16 to Duffry Rovers 4:13. It was a great game of football and
credit is due to everyone involved. The Under
16 Football County Final is on Saturday the 19th of September in Taghmon against the
Geraldine-O'Hanrahans. Best of luck to the team. All support would be appreciated. GUITAR CLASSES

Classes have resumed in Bree Hall on Mon nights with classes at 5.30 p.m., 6.30 p.m. and

SHOW
A
new Dance Talent Show called 'An Jig Gig' is about to begin on TG4 television. The show
will run over the next few months beginning on Sunday next, 27th September at 8.30pm.
Twelve members of local group, Celtic Roots are involved in one of the qualifying rounds.
Check out on how these Celtic Roots dancers perform and if their performance is good
enough to see them through to the quarterfinals, which take place in early December.
FETAC LEVEL 5 OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID
We
are currently compiling a list of names of people interested in taking the Fetac Level 5
Occupational First Aid Course. We would hope
to run the course over a number of nights in the Community Centre subject to interest. This course is certified by Fetac and the Irish
Red Cross and is valid for two years. It also
includes training in the use of the defibrillator. Anyone

General Meeting will take place on Thursday September 24th at 8pm in Bree hall. The Club AGM will now take place on
Thursday October 22nd at 8pm with all motions, proposals and letters for

Hard luck to the Ballyhogue
U21 football team who lost out to St Annes in the county semi-final on Monday last. A big
thank you to everyone involved and to our sponsors JK Concrete. Thank you also to Gary
Byrne who sponsored refreshments to the U10 and U8 football teams after winning their

Community Games AGM takes place in Bree Community Centre on Tuesday, 28th
September at 8.30pm. All are welcome to attend. BREE ICA GUILD REPORT
Bree ICA held its most recent monthly meeting on September 16th last. The newly elected president Margaret Doyle, welcomed everyone back after the Summer break. The guild also has a new secretary in Margaret Quinn. The guild treasurer is Breda Tyrrell. Margaret read the minutes of the last meeting followed by the secretary and treasurers reports. The raffle on the evening was won by Margaret ONeill. A lovely supper was served by Breda and Winnifred. The next committee meeting will be on October 13th and the next guild meeting will be on October 20th. New members are most welcome to come along. Ladies are reminded to bring along toiletries for the Womens Refuge in Wexford. Also. MIND

Well done to Amy Flanagan who won silver, Tony Stafford who came fourth and to Catriona Corcoran who came third in the recent Schools Leinster Combined Event which was held in Irishtown, Co Dublin. Best wishes to all three athletes in the School National Combined Event which takes place in Tullamore on Saturday next. Bree AC will resume training for U12s and over on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm for the winter season beginning on Monday, 28th September. Indoor training resumes in Galbally Hall on Friday, 9th Oct. The Co Cross Country Championships takes place on the 11th & 18th of October with the Leinster Championships Part 1 taking take in Adamstown on the 25th Oct. IRISH DANCING CLASSES

Jordan School of Music will commence classes in Galbally Hall on Monday October 12th next. This three teacher school will cater for beginners and advanced pupils in Tin Whistle, Flute, Accordion, Keyboard, Fiddle, Banjo and Mandolin. All are most welcome.
