NEWS
Friday 16th
October saw another large crowd at the senior club with 62 seniors attending.
Mark Carley from FDYS, came to Bree to show the seniors how to play dodge
ball. It was great fun and all were very enthusiastic about it. Thanks
to Myles Balfe for helping out at the club on the night. With the numbers attending
the senior club it is imperative that we continue to have the support of parents on club
nights. 29 junior members painted pumpkins on Friday 16th October.
The pumpkins will be used to decorate the hall for the barn dance on Friday November
the 6th!! The barn dance will be on during the usual club times for both
junior and senior members. Pat Doyle will be coming to the club and will teach line
dancing to everyone. The subscription will be 2 on the night and everyone is asked
to dress in cowboy/cowgirl style if possible. Dont forget your cowboy hat if
you have one!! On Friday October 30th the juniors will travel to a
Halloween disco in Marshalstown. Admission and bus is 5. This disco will
be from 8pm until 10pm so the children should be back to Bree by 10.30pm. The bus
will depart Bree at 7.30pm so juniors should meet their leaders at the hall at 7.15pm.
The average age of the children attending this disco will be 10 years to 12/13
years. Anyone who has not returned their permission slip for the disco must do
so on the night. There will be no youth club on the 30th of October as a result
of club members and leaders travelling to Marshalstown. Any further information
contact Anne at 9243470. More leaders
needed. At the moment we
ask parents of young people attending Bree Youth Club to volunteer one Friday night per
year to help out at the club. We have had a very positive response from you all and
your help is greatly appreciated. Every week we aim to have one adult present for
every 10 members. With the numbers that are currently attending the senior club we
ideally require 6 adults between 8pm and 9 pm. There is a leaders course
coming up on November 3rd at 7pm in FDYS, Island Road, Enniscorthy for one
night only. It would mean a great deal to the club if we could get volunteers to attend
the course and thereafter help out on a regular basis on club nights. The more
leaders we have the lighter the commitment on each leaders part. If you believe that
you could give 2 hours on occasional Friday nights, then please contact any one of the
leaders, or Anne on 9243470. BREE DAVIDSTOWN COMMUNITY GAMES
