 CONFESSIONS – Confessions on Saturday next at 2.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.

FIRST FRIDAY – Friday next will be the First Friday.  Mass on Friday evening at 7 p.m.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION  there will be no Eucharistic Adoration on Monday next.

ENVELOPE COLLECTION — last Sunday amounted to €739.20.  Sincere thanks to all who contributed.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION – the children of Second Class from Bree National School will make their First Holy Communion on Saturday morning next, May 2nd in Bree Church.

ROSARY – The Rosary will be recited on Saturday evening next at 6.45 p.m. (before Mass) in Bree Church.  All are most welcome to attend.

BREE NATIONAL SCHOOLS ENROLMENTS

Parents who wish to enrol their children in Bree National School for the 2009/10 school year commencing in September should contact the Principal for enrolment forms and details as soon as possible.  Telephone 053 9247725.

GALBALLY CHURCH RESTORATION


At a recent open meeting it was decided to begin fundraising for the restoration work on the Church spire. A tractor run will take place on Sunday 31st May and a monthly draw will begin on the 1st Sunday in May.  Your support will be greatly appreciated.

BREE AC NEWS

Best wishes to all athletes in the Wexford Creamery Track & field Championships which take place over the next two weekends. Training continues in Ballyhogue GAA pitch on Monday and Wednesdays from 6.30 to 8pm for all athletes aged seven years and over. New members are welcome. Contact Clare on 087-4151350 for further details. Well done to Elaine McCabe and Shane Byrne who have been invited to join the National Athletics Training Squad.

ST. PATRICKS SCHOOL COLLECTION

A Church Gate Collection in aid of St. Patrick’s School, Bohreen Hill, Enniscorthy will be taken up on the weekend of May 9th and 10th.  All support would be greatly appreciated for this worthy cause.

BREE ICA NEWS

Sponsored Walk

Bree ICA Guild are holding a Sponsored Walk on Sunday May 10th commencing at 2.30 p.m. from Bree Community Centre.  The proceeds of the walk will go to the “Touched by Suicide” group.  Please come along and support us.  Sponsorship lines are now on sale from all Guild members.

COMMUNITY GAMES NEWS

The Bree / Davidstown Community Games Finals for Preschools to U16 will be held in Ballyhogue GAA field on Sunday, 17th May at 6pm. Athletics training for 7 year olds and over take place in Bree on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm. Contact area Sec Una on 0879704372 for further details.

CELTIC ROOTS


Twenty-five Celtic Roots members have been invited to Japan for the World Song and Dance Festival in August this year. A Fundraising Cabaret with 'On the Run' will be held in Garry Byrne's Lounge on Saturday, 25th April.  All support would be greatly appreciated.

EDERMINE FERRY ROWING CLUB

Edermine Ferry Rowing Club will hold their Registration Night for the 2009 Rowing Season on Tuesday May 5th from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.  All are most welcome especially new members.  Training will commence on Sunday May 10th at 3 p.m.

RURAL BUS SERVICE

There will be a new bus service from the following areas to Enniscorthy commencing Thursday 16th April 2009. It will run every Thursday from this date for a pilot phase of three months.    Schedule as follows: Depart Ballyhogue 10.15am - return 2.25pm.  Depart Bree 10.25am - return 2.15pm.  Depart Davidstown 10.45am - return 2.05pm.  Depart Clonroche 10.55am - return 1.55pm. Depart Courtnacuddy 11.00am - return 1.50pm.  If you would like to travel on the service please contact 051-389679 or 051-389418. The future of this service will depend on local support.

BREE PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

Bree Parent & Toddler Group meet every Friday in the Hall (excluding school holidays) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.  All are very welcome to come along.

WHO’S GOT TALENT ? – 2009

Preparations are underway for 'Who's Got Talent? in association with Celtic Roots. Qualifying rounds will be held in Bree Community Centre on the following dates; May 16th, 22nd, 29th, 30th and June 5th, with semi finals on the 12th and 13th of June and the Grand Final on the 20th of June. This year's competition caters for all categories for U13 and U18 age groups. For further details contact 087-7535354.


BREE COMMUNITY CENTRE FINAL DRAWS


Congratulations to Fr Matt Boggan, CC Galbally and to George Doyle Ballyhogue who were the €500 winners of the two final draws for the 300 Lotto. The next Refurbishment Committee meeting takes place meeting on Monday 18th May.
