BREE PARISH JOURNAL
Preparations are under way for
this years edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish
are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of
Sept. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from
times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the
area including notable family celebrations. All items to be advised to Jim and Clare

Enniscorthy
Active Retirement will host a Fundraising Fashion Show on Wed evening, Oct 7th
commencing at 8 p.m. in the Riverside Park Hotel. Proceeds
raised are in aid of the Alzheimer Unit at St. Johns Hospital. Fashions on show will be from Glamour, London
Milan and Alexon at Shaws. Tickets costing
10 each are available from the Riverside, participating boutiques and Enniscorthy
Active Retirement Committee members. All

Jordan
School of Music will commence classes in Galbally Hall on Monday October 12th
next. This three teacher school will cater
for beginners and advanced pupils in Tin Whistle, Flute, Accordion, Keyboard, Fiddle,
Banjo and Mandolin. All are most welcome. Registration will take place at 6 p.m. on October
12th in Galbally Hall with classes commencing at 6.30 p.m. For further information contact James at 086

General Meeting will take place on Thursday September 24th at 8pm in Bree hall. The Club AGM will now take place
on Thursday October 22nd at 8pm with all motions, proposals and letters
for inclusion or discussion at the AGM to be sent in by October 8th. IRISH DANCING CLASSES

Dancing resumed Irish Dance Classes in Bree Hall on Saturday September 12th. Classes for new pupils commenced on Saturday
September 19th at 10.30 a.m. For

SHOW
A
new Dance Talent Show called 'An Jig Gig' is about to begin on TG4 television. The show
will run over the next few months beginning on Sunday next, 27th September at 8.30pm.
Twelve members of local group, Celtic Roots are involved in one of the qualifying rounds.
Check out on how these Celtic Roots dancers perform and if their performance is good
enough to see them through to the quarterfinals, which take place in early December.
BREE AC NEWS
Best
wishes to Amy Flanagan, Tony Stafford and Catriona Corcoran in the Schools National
Combined Event Championships, which take place in Tullamore this weekend. Bree AC training
for 12s and over takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm. Indoor training
resumes in Galbally Hall on Friday, 9th Oct. The Co Cross Country Championships
takes place on the 11th & 18th of October with the Leinster Championships
Part 1 taking part in Adamstown on the 25th Oct. The Annual Club Presentation
Evening takes place in Leisure Max on Thursday, 29th Oct at 7pm. Booking before

DAVIDSTOWN COMMUNITY GAMES
Bree/Davidstown
Community Games AGM takes place in Bree Community Centre on Tuesday, 28th
September at 8.30pm. All are welcome to attend. FETAC LEVEL 5 OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID
We
are currently compiling a list of names of people interested in taking the Fetac Level 5
Occupational First Aid Course. We would hope
to run the course over a number of nights in the Community Centre subject to interest. This course is certified by Fetac and the Irish
Red Cross and is valid for two years. It also
includes training in the use of the defibrillator. Anyone

The
next committee meeting will be on October 13th and the next guild meeting will
be on October 20th. New members
are most welcome to come along. Ladies are
reminded to bring along toiletries for the Womens Refuge in Wexford. BREE COMMUNITY CHILDCARE FACILITY
Bree
Community Childcare Facility intends to open for business in Spring 2010. The facility will provide all day childcare for
the following groups Babies 4 mths+, Toddlers, Pre-School, After School. Anyone wishing to register an interest is asked to
please contact Nicola Payne at 086 2392801 for further information. Please note existing classes and waiting
list will transfer to the new facility when it becomes operational and parents of existing
pupils need not re-apply. If you have any
questions please contact any of the Childcare Committee.

Bree
Youth Club will meet at the usual times of 7pm - 8pm for Juniors and 8pm - 9pm for seniors
on Friday October 2nd. The club is planning for the pre Christmas competitions
in 5-aside soccer, dodgeball, chess, draughts, and table quiz. On October 2nd
members will be asked to submit their names if they are interested in taking part in
any of the events. Halloween discos are
scheduled for the seniors on the 23rd October in BREE PARISH OFFICE
There
are many services available locally to all Parishioners through Bree Parish Office
including typing, printing, photocopying, tracing family ancestry, maintenance and
updating of Parish Website, local information and history and lots more. It is planned to give the Office a bit of a
facelift in coming months and we also hope to be able to expand the services we offer
also. Currently if anyone would like any help
in compiling or updating your CV or writing letters of application for Job Vacancies
please call into the Office to see Elaine or Robbie.
