The annual tractor and vintage run in Galbally takes
place on the 29th May. Reg begins at the community centre at 11.30 and the event gets
under way at 1.00pm. The route for this years run includes Tomfarney, Sparrowsland,
Macmine, Corlican, Lambstown. Finnogue, Barmoney and Galbally. The event has been very
successful thanks to support from the parish and from vintage groups from across the
county. Refreshments will be served in the community hall following the event

Brí Beag
Childcare Centre and Bree Community Development Group Ltd. are delighted to announce
that President of
Ireland, Mary McAleese, will be
opening this facility on Wednesday June 15th 2011 at 3.30pm. All parents of children
attending Brí Beag will be contacted shortly regarding arrangements for the day.
All parishioners are very welcome to attend this event and to partake of
refreshments in the Hall afterwards. We are very excited to be welcoming the
President for the first time to the village, and look forward to seeing you all on the
day. Further details of the opening will be published in the next few weeks.

Congratulations to Bree Utd girls
who won the double last weekend. They have now won the U12 Cup and are U12 Premier
Division Winners. The girls deserve huge recognition for this. They defeated
Shelbourne 1-0 in the Cup and defeated Curracloe in a league play-off 2-0. The team was
Kasey Doyle(Captain) Brid Byrne(Goalie), Sophie McCabe, Louise Butler, Aoife
Cloke-Rochford, Aideen Kane, Kim Horan, Aoife Codd, Niamh Sinnott and Kathlyn Furlong, the
girls, managers Lar and Jane, Paudie and the families of the girls involved.

Well done to all 12 Bree AC teams who competed in the
Leinster Relays on Sun last in Greystones. Gold medal winners were the U9 Boys team of
Liam Doyle, Nicholas Howe, Killian Doyle and Tobias Redmond and the U9 Girls team Katie
Whelan, Lucy Kehoe, Kaci OConnor and Meadhbh OBrien with sub Nadine Power, the
U16 Girls team of Dervla McCabe, Aoife Fanning, Catriona Carroll and Niamh Cloke Rochford
with Chloe McMullan as sub took bronze. Best wishes to Katie Mai McCabe, John Kehoe and
Daire Cloke Rochford who compete on U11 Girls and Boys Intercounty Relay Teams in
Navan this weekend. Training continues every Mon & Wed evening at 6.30pm.

John & Mgt Doyle, Scoby would like to extend their
sincere thanks to all who contributed to the Haiti Collection last weekend. A total of 193.95 was raised for this very
worthy cause. John & Margaret would also
like to remind you about their fundraising Barbeque on June 25th at their home
in Scoby, Davidstown. All are most welcome
and a great night is promised.

The U12 girls would like to
congratulate Brid Byrne who will be representing the club as she plays for Wexford in the
Gaynor Cup in Galway next weekend. Brid is one of the top under-age goalies in the
county. Good Luck Brid!

Both Bree and Galbally National
Schools were represented and amongst the medal winners in the Wexford Primary School
Sports which were held in Bree on Wednesday last. Galbally NS medal winners were Liam
Doyle 3rd U8 80m and Eamonn Doyle 1st U9 LJ. Bree NS medal winners
were Katie Mai McCabe 3rd U10 100m, John Kehoe 2nd U10 100m, Olivia
Howe 3rd U11 100m, Dean Doyle 3rd U12 100m, Sophie McCabe 1st
U14 400m, Kasey Doyle 3rd U14 100m, Jack Michaels 1st U14 600m. Bree
NS Relay of John Kehoe, Alan Doyle, Daire Cloke Rochford and Lee Jordan 1st
U10. Well done to all concerned.
Galbally Community Playschool is now taking
enrolments for Sept 2011. Parents can avail of free pre school places under the ECCE
scheme and we also have the subvention scheme in place.

A large crowd was in attendance at the Bree Davidstown
area Athletics Finals which took place on Wednesday last in Bree. A full list of U8-16
qualifiers for the Co Finals, which take place in Craanford on Saturday 11th
June at 10am, will be available in next weeks newsletter.

Best wishes to the thirteen young people who will
represent Bree Davidstown and Co Wexford in the Community Games National Finals in Athlone
this weekend. Travelling are Ciara Scullion and Grainne Byrne in the Art, Sophie McCabe
and Annalise Crean in the Cross Country, Kasey Doyle, Amy Long, Sophie McCabe, Moya Neary
and Louise Butler in Irish Group Dancing, Antony Butler, Enda Minogue, Colm Parnell and
Liam Rossiter in Handball, Caoimhe Doyle in Handwriting and Aoife Cloke Rochford in Music.

Well done to Ciara Scullion and
to Lauren OLeary, both pupils in Bree NS, who were recently, announced prizewinners,
from 420 entries countywide, in the 2011 Wexford Field Club Wildlife Art Competition.
Ciara was the winner of the 3rd to 6th Class Section while Lauren
was third in the same section.

Bree Tidy Towns would like to thank everyone who
participated in this years National Spring Clean.
This is the third year Bree participated and once again the operation was a
success with bags and bags of rubbish collected. Special
thanks to Barry Donohoe (Carrig Landscapes) for collecting and bringing the rubbish to
Holmestown Landfill Site. It would be great
if a collective effort could be maintained to keep ditches and approach roads to Bree
litter-free for the upcoming visit of President Mary McAleese.

Bree ICA held its monthly meeting on Tues May 24th. Guild president Margaret Doyle welcomed all and
was followed by the secretary and treasurers reports.
The competition for nicest shoe was won by Patsy with the raffle being won
by Mary. Supper was served by Patsy and
Josie. The next guild meeting will be on June
21st when the competition will be for the nicest rose.

Well done to Bree NS Girls Soccer
Team on winning the Leinster FAI Primary Schools 5-a-side Soccer Championship on Thursday
last. The team travelled to Navan where they beat Durrow NS 3-1, Boyne NS 2-1 and
Monkstown NS 8-0. Team members are Brid Byrne, Niamh Treacy, Sophie McCabe, Emma Byrne,
Shannon Carr, Kasey Doyle, Niamh Sinnott and Claire Jordan. Team manager was John Joe
Fitzgerald. This team play all three Provincial winners in the National Finals in
Tullamore on the 1st June. Best wishes to all involved.

Recent
Games
Well done to the
U16 footballers who had another good win on Monday against Geraldine O'Hanlons, coming out
on top on a scoreline of 3-14 to 1-4 . There
will be no more games for them until after the Junior Cert. Our U14 football team beat Cloughbawn on
Thursday evening by 0-9 to 0-7. Next
week they are away to Monageer in Hurling. The
Junior hurlers had a win last Friday against Rathnure. Well done.
Coaching
Course
There will be a
coaching course in Bree at 7.30 on Monday. This is open to all adult and underage coaches.
It represents an opportunity to upgrade your skills and to help your coaching in future.

now gone in. The adjudicators will judge the
village and approach roads through the months of June, July and August. Our 2011 application relies on the support of the
community to take pride in their local environment and to take action against litter and
waste. Bree Tidy Towns are registered with
the Green Home Scheme (An Tasice). Please
help us increase our waste minimisation score by joining the programme. To join log onto www.greenhome.ie, click on join in and select Bree
Community Tidy Towns in the register now section. The
adjudicators will take note of the number of households who register.
