Anthony Molloy could return for another year

The search for a new manager
of the Donegal minor team has
been widened after one of the
candidates, Barry Cunningham, withdrew from the race last week. Indeed, it is learned that outgoing manager, Anthony Molloy, could well be handed the job for another year.

Anthony Molloy
Anthony Molloy
A special sub-committee has been set up by the Minor Board to look into the possibility of drawing up a minor management team.

It is believed that a number of people in the county will be approached with a view to joining the management team. It is envisaged that after a team is in place there will then be an appointment of a manager from among the team.

Early this week the name of Anthony Molloy emerged as one of the favourites for the job and although no confirmation was available, it is believed that the former All-Ireland winning captain is the frontrunner for the post.

Frank Gallagher has been announced as one of the winners of the sixth series of AIB/REHAB Donegal People of the Year Awards, and will be presented at a Gala Function in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, on Friday, 17th November. Frank Gallagher Frank Gallagher
A classic story of a man who started a small business in the 60's and through hard work and vision developed it into one of the most modern bakeries in the country, employing over 100 full-time workers. In recent years, he developed a market for specialised breads, with the creation of the "French Mill" product and the much publicised supply of wholemeal breads to Harrods of London. At local level in Ardara, he is a strong supporter of community effort, and as sponsor of the successful Ardara GAA team which this year won the Co.Donegal Senior Football title, would have shared the pride of all in the area.
