Thought

Soul

You may not know what the Soul is; you may be unable to
define it or label it, but you are it.

Your essence is Soul.

Joke Little Native American Boy

There was this Native American boy who was confused so this is what  he asked his mother: Mom, why is my brother's name Windstorm?

She answered: Because he was conceived during a wind storm.

Well, why is my sister's name Moon-shine? She answered again:
Because she was conceived when the moon was shining.

The poor little boy looked sad and confused.

His mother said, ''Why are you so sad and confused Brokenrubber?''

Fact

Why do we call a repetition of something long in its entirety, the whole megillah?

Baby boomers may recall that Magilla Gorilla was a TV cartoon show that ran for a few years in the mid-1960s. The “whole” of the title character was quite substantial.

Well, sorry, there’s no simian source for this expression, although Magilla may have come from megillah because it alliterates with “gorilla.” Anyway, we wouldn’t want to monkey with the Bible, from which the word megillah does come. Megillah means scroll in Hebrew. In this context, it refers to the Book of Esther in the Old Testament, which is read in its entirety during the Jewish holiday of Purim. The story of Esther is long, with lots of detail. One deserves a medal to sit through the whole thing.

American entertainers, mainly comedians in the 1950s, introduced the expression. Bill Clinton’s endless State of the Union addresses, no doubt, were responsible for increasing its use.

Not for everyone

With testing for drug use rising in industry as well as among professional athletes, it figures that someone would invent a way to cheat. Meet the “Whizzinator,” a “phallic device” that dispenses synthetic urine. One straps it to one’s body.

Assuming one is a guy.

Didja Know...
The days between October 4 and October 15, 1582 did not "exist," they were skipped, due to a decree from Pope Gregory XIII, who changed the official calendar from the Julian model to the Gregorian. (Source: funtrivia.com)
