Junior Football League Division 1
Sunday 25th May 2003

 BRIDE ROVERS 2-17   -   DUNGOURNEY 0-07

TEAM SPONSOR :   RATHCORMAC TYRES

IN our last league game we drew with Lisgoold so on Sunday morning when we made the journey to the Jamesy Kelleher Memorial Park in Clonmult we didn’t know what to expect.

The game turned out to be a very one-sided contest. A brace of first –half green flags from Jerome O Driscoll and Colm O Keeffe saw us lead by 2-7 to 0-5 at the short whistle.

Dungourney enjoyed the lions share of possession early in the second half but found our defence led by Pat Walsh and Padraig Murphy in real mean form. We added a further 6 points while the home side got two.

Having now played 6 games in the Junior Football League we have won 4, lost 1 & drew 1 which gives a total of 9 points.

Team & Scorers:

B.Johnson, P.O Driscoll, P.Walsh, B. O Driscoll, J.Murphy, P.Murphy, A. Collins, B.Walsh 0-4, D.Ryan, J. O Driscoll 1-3, T. Broderick 0-3, S.Ryan 0-2, C.O Keeffe 1-0.D.Fitzgerald, H.Kelleher 0-4.

The draws for the next round of the Junior A Football Championship were made also & Bride Rovers have being drawn against Castlelyons in the quarter final. This should make for a mouth-watering tie between these neighbouring parishes.
