Brigit Egging

Brigit Egging (1960) finished Art College in Enschede Holland in 1984. She left Holland in 1991 and works and lives presently in Co. Sligo, Ireland.

Her interest in using the computer as a drawing tool began in 1999 when she expanded her activities as artist and art teacher to working on commissions for graphic designs. Combining her experience from painting, drawing and graphic art, with working in graphic computer programmes, she discovered possibilities and flexibility in the process of creating her digital images. Despite going from paintbrush and pencil to bitmap and mouse the digital works retains the quality unique to her work with traditional tools.

In 2000 her first series of digital works were shown in Holland and Ireland in the duo exhibition A Virtual Studio with Jan Punter. Her second series of digital drawings (printed on canvas) were exhibited in 2002, together with the work of Steven Veldkamp, during the show Converge in Hengelo (OV), Holland.
