HOMELANDS IRELAND REVIEWBACK
The first installment of the Homelands 2000 dance marathons has kicked off in style at Mosney, an hour's drive North of Dublin, Ireland.

The rainy, squelchy, muddy reception could not dampen the spirits of the 30,000+ revellers, who were responsible for a more infectious atmosphere than many of the best sun-fests. You could almost believe that this is what eventually enticed the sun to emerge, and shine on Homelands, though I'm certain the atmosphere would have still been bright regardless. The crowd were mostly good, hard-working people, that were determined to enjoy themselves this weekend, rain or shine. Respect.

The DJs were first rate, and proved their ability to not only create and improve their respective genres (Trance, House, Garage, Jungle, etc) but to impress them upon modern music, and possibly even pave the way for what music may represent in the future, history in the form of wax, coupled with the futuristic world of synths and computers, supplemented by live instruments.

The live bands also shone, not only fitting in with the mainly DJ contingent, but showing an aptitude for adaptation by including aspects of 'dance' in their own styles of music, i.e. samples, etc. All the acts of Homelands Ireland ultimately fell into one category...

Great entertainment.
