GARRETSTOWN, CORK, IRELAND

The forecast wasn't great so instead of the intended trip to Barleycove we had to settle for the old reliable. Sure enough, all that greeted us was 6-inch ripples and a glut of smelly bikers down in the hotel to swop bike stories and hair lice. Highlights of the day were :

  • spotting a seal
  • Leary nearly starting a biker-surfer war by trying to reclaim the Surfers Lounge from the hairy invaders.

INCHYDONEY/BARLEYCOVE, CORK, IRELAND

Mediteranean weather comes to Cork but unfortunately brings Mediteranean waves with it as well. One footers in Inchydoney on Saturday became 6-inchers in Barleycove on Sunday so it was a weekend for challenging the locals to a game of soccer on the beach. It's a pity 'cos there were reports of decent waves on the West Coast. Ah well - at least we won the soccer.
