Welcome to Boyle VTOS Centre

What sort of people does one meet on VTOS? After sixteen years experience as a tutor on the VTOS Programme the answer for me is quite simple. You meet some of the finest people one could ever wish to come across.
VTOS students come from a variety of backgrounds but they all have some things in common. They all bring with them a wealth of experience. Very often they don’t value how much they have learned in the University of Life.
Making ends meet on a small income teaches many of the principles of economics. Rearing a family teaches a lot about psychology and communications. Dealing with unemployment, living in a variety of places, mixing with people from a variety of backgrounds teaches a lot about sociology.
Most VTOS students have the same worries about coming on the course.
"Will I be able to learn the subjects"?
"Will everyone else be better than me"?
"Will I look stupid if I can’t keep up"?
"Is VTOS like school used to be"?

There is no need to worry and students who have
experience of VTOS will tell you that.
Tutors in VTOS understand your fears. They treat you as an adult and value your experience. They respect you as an individual and understand that students have different talents and abilities. Subjects are offered at different levels to meet your needs.
Students who are able can achieve FETAC Awards that are equal or higher than Leaving Certificate standard. Others will take subjects at a lower level. Some students may need extra help to improve their reading and writing skills.
VTOS takes students from where they are at,
and encourages them to go forward.

If you are eligible for VTOS you should grasp the opportunity.
You won’t regret it.

Looking forward to meeting you during the year!
