FOINSE 
Launch Night

Approximately 200 people attended the cheese and wine launch of the Branches first Music CD in the Woodlands Hotel, Adare on Monday 17th December 2001.  

 It was an excellent night and  the Fear an Tí for the night was Micheál O`Riain who did a excellent job in keeping the evening flowing successfully.

Louis Keegan,  Chairperson, Castleconnell/Ahane/Herbertstown Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Branch addressed the guests on the night.  He thanked, all the musicians, who played on the CD and he thanked the parents for bringing the musicians to music practice and the recordings. Sheila Cagney was thanked especially for her contribution down through the years for teaching music in the branch and for her work on bringing about the CD.  She was presented with a token of appreciation from the the branch members.  Niall Keegan of the Irish World Music Centre was especially thanked for his help, advice and patience in the recording of the CD. 

Paddy McAuliffe, Chairman of the Arts Committee, Limerick County Council addressed the guests and said that he was delighted as a member of the branch and as Chairperson of the Limerick County Council Arts Committee to be invited to the launch.

Professor Micheál O’Súilleabháin, Director, Irish World Music Centre, University of Limerick offically launched the CD "FOINSE". He spoke about the title of the CD "FOINSE" and how it referred to source and what that sould mean for the musicians playing. etc etc. ....
