Camolin Post Office |
In Bassett's 1885 Wexford Directory, the Post Master in Camolin was James Lawler. However AQ brought in an old stamp from the Post Office where James Keogho was listed as grocer, baker and draper.
Apart from the unusual spelling of the surname there is an F.M. Keogho listed as both a grocer and baker in the village in 1885. Obviously James Keogho is related to F.M. of 1885 the Keogho family diversified into the Post Office and drapery businesses later.
Interestingly in the 2003 '05' area telephone directory there is no listings under 'Keogho'. One wonders if and when the 'o' was dropped to become 'Keogh.'
