Who are we.

We are a colourful community of people from a wide variety of backgrounds who are continuing to discover the joy of living in the benefits of God' s favour and kindness.

What are we seeking

Carlow Christian Community are actively seeking to live the lifestyle that Jesus lived and taught His disciples to follow.

In practice this involves us spending time with God

It also involves us becoming mature as Christians through

What we believe

We believe that God has created each person for His glory and as such we seek to encourage each person to function in the unique way that God has gifted them

We are a people with a vision and a purpose to see the wider community transformed through the coming of the Kingdom of God. Unlike many religious groups, we are not trying to earn our way to heaven. Jesus is very clear about this issue when He declares in the Bible that

  • "he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement but has passed from death to life" …. (see John 5:24)
  • We know that we are going to heaven because the death of Christ on the cross has effectively dealt with our sin. We approach God with confidence on that basis and our lifestyle reflects the love, freedom and acceptance He has shown to us. This is the good news of the gospel.

    Why are we satisfied

Our joy comes from knowing what God has already done for us and the plans and inheritance He now has in store for us. This is freely given to us and not something we have earned by our own efforts. We are no longer living with guilt or fear. Our souls are genuinely satisfied.

What is our style of church life

We meet during the week in small groups based in homes and in a larger congregation on Sunday mornings. We are seeking to follow the example of the early Christian church recorded in the Bible in Acts 2:46-47.

This shows that in addition to meeting in the temple …

  • they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people.
  • Like the early church, Carlow Christian Community seeks to build good healthy friendships where people find help, encouragement, prayer and support in their spiritual development. We also see the value of meeting together in a larger gathering to worship God and receive teaching from the Bible.

    Where do we meet

We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:30am in Dr O'Brien, Day Care Centre, Dublin Road, Carlow (behind the courthouse) Come, taste and see that God is good. Everyone is Welcome.
