This Photograph was taken from near the Visitors Center at the Cliffs of Moher. It shows a striking Rainbow coming flooding down on the Seaside resort of Liscannor, just outside of Lehinch. Lehinch has a very Large beautiful Sandy beach with excellent opportunity for People who would like a Swim in the Sea. It also has a pitch and putt Golf Course and a large area of un-spoilt sand dunes, making it a popular place to take a day trip for the whole Family. It also has a dramatic new attraction, Seaworld, where visitors can see and experience the underwater life of the Atlantic Coast. A leisure centre forms part of Seaworld, complete with a 25m indoor swimming pool, kiddies pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, seaview cafe and souvenir shop. |
A view from the top looking along the awesome site of the Cliffs of Moher. They rise majestically some sheer 700ft from the Atlantic Ocean, with small Castles and Look out Towers dotted along its 6 Mile Length. The Cliffs are home to many varieties of Sea birds including the Colourful Puffin, Fulmars, Gannets, Cormorants, shags and several species of Terns. The Visitors Center offers more information on the Cliffs and offers a rest and Hot Drink from the ever blowing wind that rises from the Ocean up the Cliffs and along the Cliff tops. Just along the road from the Cliffs, on the way to Lehinch, is The Rock shop, where you can see many, many rocks and gems from all around the World, including the famous Liscannor Stone. |
Doolin Castle set on top of the hill just outside of the small seaside town of Doolin. The Castle is just one of many Castles that can be visited around the County of Clare. Doolin itself is a very un-spoilt Traditional Irish seaside town. Here you can catch a ferry to the Aran Islands for the day. It has a varied coast line ranging from small cliffs with cascading waterfalls into the Ocean, to Sandy Beaches for Bathing. Doolin is most famous for its Traditional Irish Music and songs, and is a must for anyone who wishes to see or partake in an Old Traditional music Evening. |
The Haunted ruin of Leamanch Castle just at the side of the road between Corrofin and Kilfenora. This is one of many castles, both ruined intact castles in Co. Clare. These include the Famous Bunratty Castle, just south Ennis, Dysert O'Dea Castle, in the east of County Clare, Doolin Castle, as seen above, ClareCastle, again just to the south of Ennis. As well as Castles, there are many, many Outstanding Historical buildings from Churches and Cathedrals to Prehistoric sites and Megalithic Tombs. |
The Cliffs at Fanore you will see traveling along the coast road from Doolin around the Burren to Black Head point. This spot is popular with Fisherman and Rock Climbers alike. Its gives a fantastic view of the Aran Islands from here, with an awe-inspiring Sunset view over the Islands. Just a short Distance from the Cliffs is the Wide beautiful Beach of Fanore, very popular with Families on a Beach Day out. It is also a favorite spot for Beach Fisherman and Surfers alike. |
The Cascading Waterfalls in Ennistymon. These waterfalls have been utilised throughout the ages by man, and to this day are used to power a Generator for the Falls Hotel in the Town. The town is also famous for its shop fronts and remarkable stone architecture. This is due to the skilled stone masons who populated the region during the middle ages. |
The vast expanse of the Burren. The name Burren is taken from the Irish 'boireann' meaning 'rocky place'. This area of is some 350 Million years old and is host to a very large number of Unique Flowers, including many species of Orchid. It has such a diverse range of flora and fauna, that it has been become world famous. It was made a National park many years ago, as it was realised then, of its great unique eco structure. |
