      Welcome to Carrigaline Toastmasters

                 District 71 Area 23

          New members very welcome.

Carrigaline Toastmasters has been established in Carrigaline for over 13 years. It is a an excellent place to grow as a speaker and develop as an individual.  People come to develop their speaking skills and stay because it is fun, entertaining and an excellent place to meet new people. At Carrigaline Toastmasters you learn how to communicate effectively, write and deliver speeches, conduct a meeting and think on your feet.

Please feel free to come along as a guest and see what it is all about. You never know, it may be just what you are looking for.

Our Toastmasters meetings take about 2 hours. There are two parts to the meeting with a 15 minute break for tea and coffee in the middle. The 1st part of the meeting is Table Topics which helps members think on their feet. Topics are given to toastmasters, who then talk for 2 minutes on the subject. Guests won't get asked topics unless they specifically request so.

The second part of the meeting consists of prepared speeches. These speeches are projects that follow various Toastmaster manuals. You are encouraged to work at your own pace with no pressure and there is always plenty of help available from other members.

Click here for more details on the format of the meetings and here for some sample speeches.
