Leitrim is almost fully landlocked with just a few miles of coastline touching the Atlantic. It is bordered by the
River Erne, Loughs MacNean and Melvin to the north and is bisected by the River Shannon. The Erne and Shannon
have been recently joined by the Shannon-Erne Waterway which provides excellent cruising and angling. The area is
an excellent destination for walkers, climbers with its gentle hills and valleys.
Leitrim village is a few miles north of Carrick-on-Shannon, the county capital, and offers good equestrian facilities
and scenic trekking routes. Just north is the town of Drumshanbo on the picturesque Lough Allen.

Water weaves it's spell through the gentle valleys, illuminating the landscape with liquid light. The Shannon-Erne
Waterway links the rivers Shannon and Erne creating 75km of crusing waterway.
A canal, laced with lakes,
weds two great pleasure rivers, presenting a cruising papdice of great beauty. Listen to a tale well told. A song
well sung. The fiddle strung as taut as a throughbred, spinning silver threads of musical enchantment. Applaud a
dance well done. laugh, smile, in a pub or a theatre, at a festival or a fair. Join in. Take part. Your very welcome.
