Club Activities:

The members of the club meet once a month and all have the opportunity to get involved in competitions, sports events and social functions, as well as farming related activities.  At present a team from the club is preparing for a drama competition being held at the end of the month. Soccer teams are doing well in the regional round of the sport.   A recent function organised by the club “Mr Chicky Babe” was very successful and an excellent nights entertainment. Club members took off to the slopes of Andorra for the regional Skiing trip a number of weeks ago.  The club has always been active in the community and contributions to charity organisations are made regularly by the members. An example of this is participation by members in a local youth mass.  Other activities enjoyed by members are Stock Judging, Public Speaking, Farm Skills, Dancing, Debating, and many educational courses like First Aid and welding.

Recent Achievements

Carraig na bhFear was awarded the accolade “Club of the year” in the Seandún region last year. This reflected a vibrant year in the clubs history with a large increase in affiliations and a number of successes in various competions at local and national level.

Club members Cliona Hegarty, Orlagh Burke, Colm O’Reilly, Shane Horgan and Raymond Foley received second prize in the “Futuristic Fashion Vision” competition held over the National Conference weekend in Limerick. The garments were certainly not for everyday use and included materials ranging from a barrel to jam tart cases!

In the Seandún regional round of the Dublin City Talent competion Carraig na bhFear was successful in three categories:

       Solo Instrumental:          Conor Hegarty (Piano)
