| Our school has been going on School tours since 1976. That year we had to go in cars. Because we are such a small school parents and past pupils always come on the tours. We have travelled to Butlins, the Zoo, Croke Park, Dublin Airport, Galway, Limerick, Bunratty Castle, Glendalock, Knock Airport, Kilkenny, Galway Leisureland, Craganowen, Dublin Traffic ed., zoo, Phoenix Park, Dublin National History Museum, The Dąil, Aran an Uachtarąin, Viking Centre, Bank of Ireland. Last year when we went to Croke Park, We were not allowed onto the pitch. We went to Arąs an Uachtarąin and we were shown around the building. It was very nice inside. Outside there was a lovely water fountain. Last year we went to Dublin. In Dublin, we went to the Viking Centre. There was a big boat, everybody was allowed on the big boat, and everybody loved it. It brought everybody to the village. There were pirates on the boat and they fell into the water. The water was not very deep but it was very funny. |

| Near Christmas, we have a
school play; Everybody takes part in the school play. Junior infants and
senior infants do poems and rhymes and some people play musical
instruments in the 2nd part of the play. We have Nativity
playas well. It is a lot of fun dressing up. At our play, we hold schools
draw and we sell lots and many tickets and we make lots and lots of money.
All of the parents come to watch us on the stage. The play starts at eight o' clock. Everybody claps at the end of the play and we all bow. Everybody likes to take part in the play. We have tea and biscuits after the play. We rehearse our lines the week beforehand. Lots of funny things happen such as we say the wrong lines and we say each others lines. Sometimes we forget our own lines and we cant help laughing and the audience dont know whats happening. |
Our teacher is a great help to us with the
play.
We give flowers to her for letting us have a play. All the people help clean up after the play. Everybody thinks the play is good. Our parents help us with the costumes. We have a party after the play. By Laura, Sandra, Sarah, John, Rose, Padraic, Patrick and Aisling. (Second Class)
