The Crew Bus - Life Education

The Junior Room

We went to visit the Crew Bus today to learn about our bodies and how to look after them. Harold the Giraffe taught us about foods that give us energy. We went on a picnic with him. We brought healthy food such as fruit, sandwiches, milk and yogurt.

Tammy the doll lit up when we touched her. We talked about what the different parts of our body and how they work. We found our pulse when we were sitting and again after running. Exercise and good food is good for your heart.

On Sunday night, the crew bus was parked in the school yard and on Thursday we entered. First we had to say what friends are and their qualities. Then we named the parts of the body. Then we named drugs. Later we watched a video about the human body. After that we heard about a boy called Jay and the smoking gang forcing a boy called Steve to smoke. The Crew bus was organised by a lady called Jackie. Gary

The crew bus was about the human body. It had a dummy that showed all the parts of the body. You got called up to show a part of the human body. When you pressed the part, it lit up. It was also about drugs. It was about how people take drugs and how they damage the human body. We also talked about why people take drugs. We talked about all the different drugs. Alistair

This girl called Jackie came to our school and invited us into this mobile home. It was brilliant and she taught us about drugs and how to stand up for yourself. Her friend Tammy lit up when you touched it. We turned off the lights and watched this video. There were stars on the roof. It was excellent. I really enjoyed it. Miriam

The crew bus came to our school last week. It had a giraffe on the side of it. We went in from 12 noon to 2 pm  breaking for lunch at one. Jackie taught us many things such as the parts of the body, how they work and how to keep our body healthy.  Tammy , her doll had lights for the different parts of the body. We had discussions on friends, smoking and drugs. We named drugs such as tobacco, nicotine, caffeine, smack, grass and cocaine. We listened to a gang of boys telling another boy to go for a smoke .The boy was put under a lot of pressue to say , “Yes.” We had to act this scene out. We all said, “No” to drugs and smoking. Glenn
