Mr. Dennehy's Class 2002

Phil Gaston came into talk to us about litter. We had to bring in rubbish like bottles, cans, washing up liquid and boxes. While he was here we had fun making noises.

As we had so much fun just banging on our instruments we couldn't wait for him to come again.

Music Workshop

The director of Maoin Ceoil an Chlair came to our school last Friday the 13 and Wednesday the 6. His name is Phil Gaston. He showed us how to make a musical instrument out of litter. We played a lot of tunes. This is how we made the instruments out of litter. We put rice in a bottle, he gave us some tins and sticks to bang. We listened to a girl who had to make some rhythms before she could get a drum kit. He was a bit late though because he was looking up jingle bells and he found two verses that we never even heard of. He made up a song that was nearly the same as jingle bells. We enjoyed it. We were all sad when. He drove home.

One day a man named Phil Gaston came into my class room . We all made shakers and scrapers and of course drums. On the first day we played a little and listened to some weird singing and then we did some playing. Phil said try Black and Decker for a tune called and reel and Rashers and sausages for a jig. On the second day, we played in groups. Some groups were playing Drop it don't Pop it" and another group was doing Pop it , don't drop it and another group was doing Da, Da, Da, Litter Smells". We listened to more songs and played his version of Jingle Bells.

I would give it ten out of ten.
