Welcome to Scoil Iognáid Rís, the CBS Primary School in Kilkenny City

The present school was opened in 1953 and was the first school in Ireland to be dedicated to Edmund Ignatius Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers. Scoil Iognáid Rís is an all-boys school under lay principalship and caters for 181 pupils from 2nd to 6th class.
