Brian Molko came from a born again christian family. His mother was scotish and his father was american. His father was a wealthy banker who travelled europe with brian on business. As a teen Brian attended secondary school in a american bording school in Luxembourg (Stefan Olsdal also attended).At a young age Brian left the school in Luxembourg to study Drama in London(his father wasn't impressed)

Stefan attended the same school as Brian. Stefan was a out - going you boy. He played for the school basket ball team. Unlike Brian who was remembered as a "geeky" child Stefan had loads of friends and was very popular.

A few year later Brian met Stefan in th tube (Londons underground rail system). Thats when Placebo was made. Brian Molko on guitar and vocals Stefan on Bass and piano and Robert Shultzberg on Drums and Digeridoo. Placebo were fist signed to "despective records ©" then to Hut (Virgin Records).

With Brian and Robert not getting along Robert Left the band to be replaced by Steve Hewitt who was the drummer in Placebo's demos. With the great "Without You I'm Nothing" album Steve stayed.
