Charolaise
Description
The Charolaise is a cream-coloured cattle, easy to recognize with its
great conformation : well-developped, muscular hindquarters and shoulders.
Its face is large but gentle- looking, with
large eyes, pink nose, and short, white horns. It is 4 feet ½ tall (around 140 cm), and
weights an average 1.800 pounds (900 kg). The Charolaise was originally a triple-purpose animal, raised for milk, draft works, and beef, before being developed into a specialised beef breed. They produce excellent quality meat and have a high growth rate |
Some say the Charolaise is a « steak-symbol » !
Its other qualities are : feeding efficiency, wide temperature tolerance, docility,
fertility.
