Description
This golden-red cattle is easy to recognize not only because of the color of its coat (which varies from wheat to rust red), but also because of its long, sleek body.
Its face is short with a broad, high forehead,
short neck, short horns, with white shades around the muzzle and eyes. Its horns are short
and white. It has decent muscling, especially in the hindquarters. This conformation,
typical of beef breeds, is very similar to the Blonde d'Aquitaine's. In the past, it was a dual purposed breed : work animal with good beef qualities. It can weight up to 2.000 pounds ! The Limousine adapts itself everywhere without difficulties : it is known as a breed of unusual sturdiness, health and adaptability. Combined to its high quality beef, managability, feeding efficiency and calving ease, its qualities make the Limousine a modern beef type.
