Thank you for choosing Cinemax. This site and the whole idea of Cinemax was spawned in December of 1998 but actually didn't take off until over a year later. Cinemax started as an idea (doesn't everything), something to represent the movie fans and to provide some good information and news on whats going on in the movie industry. This however never left the drawing board. There were some sites that were already bringing the news and that had made a good name for themselves on a global market.
Scream.Web was the first of the webmaster's movie based sites (also an affiliate of this site) and this site was to be a first of many based on the entertainment industry (or at least some aspect of it).
Scream.Web
started off slow and was received well. Constant updates and nice changes had and have
people coming back for more. The site was posted in February of 1999 (02) and within the
first ten months had recorded almost 12,000 visitors. Not bad going for a site that was
based on just one movie. Then more sites came on movies but all were particular. So the
drawing pad came on the desk once again in the middle of December, 1999. Sections were
drawn up and planned and logo's, artwork, buttons etc were all drawn up with a nice colour
scheme. Plain and simple, black frames with a white center piece. Not bad. Not good. The
original design was scrapped and a nicer "blues" theme was approached after days
of planning. Something for the fans, something for the country's interest. And so this is
Cinemax.
Dedicated to the fans of movies, the site is Irish based, run in Ireland and is currently hosted on Irish servers by Eircom.The site is run by one person, solely responsible for the design, maintenence and interaction - Ken McGuire. Though the site is run by one person, that is not to say that everything falls from the webmaster's hands. The site is geared towards the fans and pre-launch inquiries showed that some of these fans (only on a local basis and in fact all that were asked) were quite eager to assist and help in contributing work to the site through reviews, news, affiliations, fan art and more.
Cinemax brings the latest news and headlines from Hollywood and Ireland alike and around the world as well. Updated daily, this is a site that promises to bring you the best of everything movies - news, posters, cool downloads, interviews, reviews, merchandise, music, trailers, special features and much, much, more! Fans can contribute what they like to the site - that is what this is here for - the fans.
