In February we went to the Chinese festival in Smithfield. We went with 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th class. We were taught how to write in Chinese. Then we went
over to all the different stalls and looked at lots of different things like clothes, purses, umbrellas and stickers. There was also Chinese food there such as spring
rolls, chips, spices, herbs and spicy chicken wings. We got to listen to Chinese musicians who only played for really important people like the Emperor of China.
They played unusual traditional Chinese instruments. Then later on we bought lots of things such as bouncy balls that light up and rubber soothers that light up. Then we begged our teacher to let us go on the waltzers. That took a lot of persuading, but we got to go on them in the end. It was great but when we got off. Some people looked like they weren't feeling very well, but they were alright. After a while, it was time to go home so we packed up and went back to the school. We had a great day and would love to do it again.
