Cór Fhéile na Scoileanna
March 2004

On March 2nd 2004, 4th, 5th and 6th classes performed at Cór Fhéile na Scoileanna
(Schools' Choir Festival) in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.  The choir sang songs in three part harmony and it was a huge success.  The recorder group is a mix of 4th, 5th and 6th class.  Their performance was well received by the audience.  Congratulations to all the girls who worked so hard in preparation for this event.

Adjudicator Reports

Choir

  1. Rocky Mountain
A jaunty cheerful performance.  Effective use of dynamics and excellent diction.
Well controlled at all times.  Great input by accompanist.  Very enjoyable.
  2. Teigh a Chodladh
A good contrast here - sweet tone.  Make sure to keep tempo unpushed  and
relaxed throughout, especially in the humming section - it needs to sound rather dreamy.
  3. So Fa Jazz
A fun piece which swung along with a great sense of rhythm.  A very polished
performance throughout which was much enjoyed by the audience.

Recorder Group

  1. The Musical Box
Well taught and accurate performance - very disciplined.
  2. Loch Lomond
Much appreciated solo - lovely tone and nice, even well maintained tempo.
Good rhythmic dotted notes.  Well matched tone when the ensemble entered.
  3. Scherzino
Very accurate notes and rhythms, played extremely well together.
    A most successful performance.
  4. Legend
Same sweet unforced tone as before, played with an awareness of the beauty of this melody.
  5. The Merry Go Round
Don't rush the percussion accompaniment - make sure you listen carefully all the
time.  You settled into it well..
A very accomplished group - well done.
